Mission Statement We, the faith community of St. Colette, in proclaiming the truth of the Gospel are committed to follow Jesus Christ by being ”the salt of the earth” and “the light of the world”. By our Baptism we are called to serve people of all cul-tures, migrants, and those who have no voice of their own; our born and unborn children; victims of violence, and the impoverished. Empowered by the Holy Spirit and nurtured by the Eucharist, we are led to promote human dignity and justice for all people. We believe that this is the way the Lord is calling us to be a sign of His kingdom in this time and place.

A WORD FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR
OF MANY THINGS CONTINUED
UPDATES ON FR. BOB AND FR. JIM I went to see both of them last Monday. Fr. Bob is enjoying the luxurious lake front view from his 24th floor room at the Shirley Ryan Ability Center, and the attention, too. He has a long and busy day in-cluding several sessions of physical therapy, assessments, music therapy and art therapy. Fr. Jim is not fairing as well. His doctors have discovered another tumor and they are conducting tests to see what kind of treatment options that there are. Please keep them both in your prayers. FATHERS’ DAY Besides Fr. Bob and Fr. Jim, this is a day for all fathers. Fatherhood is not just a biological fact or long term employment, it is very much an opportunity and a vocation. As an opportunity with a number of challenges, it really invites a response of discovering and using gifts or talents to mold the future. Since fatherhood usually seems to come “naturally”, it can easily be mistaken for part of the background of life. When seen as an opportunity to mold the future, it really demands some intentional effort to consider what kind of future you want for you children and for their world. How, in the setting of the talents and circum-stances which you have, can you raise children in such a way as to ensure that there will be some desire and effort to create a society with justice and opportunities for all, security and a healthy planet with a sustaina-bly healthy environment. As a vocation, fatherhood is an acceptance of the invitation to work with God to instill a deep sense of God’s love for his children, wonder and awe at the gift of his creation, and providing a solid start to a per-sonal relationship with Jesus, the Christ. We give thanks to all our fathers, grandfathers, god-fathers, step-fathers, and those who act in the place of fathers for children without one for all you do. God bless you and keep in the power of his Spirit in your life TRINITY SUNDAY Today we also celebrate the Most Holy Trinity, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We rejoice in the God who reveals himself in such a way as to help us to understand and live community, love, and a life to the full. We give thanks for our Creator, or Savior, and our Counselor. The God who is, who was and who will be.
THE MYSTERY OF THE VANISHING MISSALETTES PART III A few days later Milly, the Missalette Minder, came up to the Administrator quite excitedly. “I have it.” she said. “You have what?” asked the Administrator. “The answer to our problem of the vanishing missalettes, of course,” she said. “Well, what is it?” asked the Administrator. “It is so simple, I don’t know why we didn’t think of this sooner.” said Milly. “Good for you, Milly. So what is the answer?” “You are going to be so amazed at how easy it is to solve the problem,” said Milly. “Milly, could you please get to the point. I am getting the idea that this is going to be like a Homer Simpson ‘Doh!’ moment.” said the Ad-ministrator. “Here it is.” said Milly. “We simply ask Edy to print us some stickers saying, ‘Please Return to the Vestibule After Mass’, or ‘Please Leave for the Next Person’ or ‘Property of St. Colette Parish: Leave in Pew’, or something like that. Then we put those stickers on each copy of the Missalette. Surely no one is going to take any then.” “Ok, Milly,” said the Administrator. “I hope you are right. If this works I think it will make a lot of people happy to be able to have a Missalette and not be disappointed that they have all disappeared. Go ahead and talk to Edy.” To be continued

The Feast of Corpus Christi gives Catholics the chance to express their belief in the true presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the Blessed Sacrament, as a way to let others witness their faith. This Feast allows Faithful Catholics to teach by example, one of the strongest ways to show our love for God and our neighbors.
