  • Thursday, 22. November 2018: „Listen“8 pm Duvarlar-Mauern-Walls (2000)Arena Kiosk Mittelstr. 5483 minutes, in Turkish, German, English (original with subtitles)Duvarlar-Mauern-Walls, is a trilingual (Turkish, German, English) docu-mentary about a period in the recent history of the largest minority in reunified, post-Wall Berlin: the Turkish immigrant community. They reflect on the opening of the Wall and the subsequent reunification and also how increasing hostilities are affecting their sense of belonging in the new Germany.

Friday, 23. November 2018: „We are here“10-11am: A Walk through the CityStart: Schloss Mannheim,Bus stop: Schloss (Line 60 towards Hbf) Between Baroque, Industry and Culture. A personal walk to take a look at Mannheim´s attractions. End: Market Square

11.15-12.45 pm: Identity Politics - Friend or Enemy of Solidari-ty-based Antiracism?, WorkshopRomnoKher B7, No. 16Rarely has an identity-political, racism-critical approach like Critical Whi-teness triggered so much controversy. Even the anti-racist scene itself seems split in this respect. One thing is certain: at a time when ultra-na-tionalist, racist, political movements are becoming socially acceptable, those who stand for the strengthening of a diverse society must unite.

11.50-12.20 pm & 2-2.30 pm: Takdir, PerformanceRomnoKher B7, No. 16The artist Ülkü Süngün performs Takdir/die Anerkennung/the Appreciati-on by teaching interested people the correct pronunciation of the names of the ten murder victims of the NSU. Through the participants chorus this style of speaking evokes a form of memory and recognition that creates a temporary commemorative community.

12.45-1.15 pm: Burak Bektaş – No echo in front of my shout, PerformanceRomnoKher B7, No. 16By Wahshi Kuhi. Burak Bektaş was shot dead on 5 April 2012 in Neukölln. Half a year after the so-called „National Socialist Underground“ (NSU) blew its own cover, all signs pointed to a racially motivated murder. This seems to also be the case of the 22-year-old Berliner, whose parents came to Germany from Turkey. Six years after his death, the perpetrators have still not been arrested. His family, however, continues to fight for the clarification of the murder of Burak Bektaş. Initiative for the clarification of the murder of Burak Bektaş.

1.10-2.40 pm: Donauwörth and organizing against police violen-ce in asylum camps, WorkshopRomnoKher B7, No. 16, Language: EnglishMassive police raids in Southern German camps have recently followed a certain pattern. By focusing on the raid in the Donauwörth refugee iso-lation camp in Bavaria on March 14, 2018 we will analyse this state stra-tegy and wish to discuss the possibilities of organizing against it. We give inputs on refugee self-organisation, state violence in Southern German camps and the legal process against the Donauwörth refugees. The fo-cus is on how to build practical solidarity with the victimized people and a wider networking around the issue.

2.40- 4.15 pm Migritude, WorkshopRomnoKher B7, No. 16We have to build structures, hadi! SchwaPo, a working group of the Initiative Schwarze Menschen in Deutschland (Initiative of Black People in Germany), would like to invite all interested post-migrant activists, BpoCs, Afros, Känäx and Nafris to a networking meeting. Together with you we will talk about our experiences, disappointments and hopes for the development of a broad, anti-racist structure. Short inputs about: Identity, Movement and Racism.

10- 4 pm Exhibitions (also on Sunday 25. November)RomnoKher B7, No. 16Mari Parmissi – Our HistoryThe exhibition thematically covers the history of the Sinti and Roma since the first written mention in 475 BC and their post-war history. It shows the begin-nings of the civil rights movement to the present day: the first state treaty in Baden-Württemberg in 2013 and the opening of the ‚Antiziganism Research Centre‘ at the University of Heidelberg.

Don´t Forget Mannheim-Schönau 1992 From 26 May to 13 June 1992 pogrom-like attacks took place in Mann-heim-Schönau at a shelter for refugees. People showed solidarity in front of the shelter and thus prevented further attacks.

NSU Special Mitteperformance is a temporary artists collective that critically exami-nes the NSU complex and its social negotiations. The exhibition within the framework of the NSU Tribunal shows works that refer to the NSU investigation committee in Baden-Württemberg.

Saturday, 24. November 2018:„Lament, Indict, De-mand“10-11 am: Walk through the CityStart: Schloss Mannheim,Bus stop: Schloss (Line 60 towards Hbf) Between Baroque, Industry and Culture. A personal walk to take a look at Mannheim´s attractions. End: Market Square

10-11 am: Anti-Fascist Walk through the CityMeeting point: Georg-Lechleiter-Platz in the Schwetzinger VorstadtWe want to commemorate the victims of the terror regime during theNational Socialist era(1939-1945) in Mannheim. We are talking about, amongother things, terror verdicts, the hereditary health courts, and about the people who opposed the terror system.

23.15 pm: Oriental OrchestraLUXX - Friedrichplatz 4 Sunday, 25. November 2018: „We Walk Together“9.30-11.45 am: Charlottesville: Our StreetsRomnoKher B7, No. 16Original language: English, subtitles german. Film contains violent scenes.Film by Jackson Landers and Brian Wimer. 2017, USA 91 min. Panel discussion with Jackson Landers, Danilo Starosta from Kultur-büro Sachsen, and Esther Dischereit. On 12 August 2017, white racists marched into the city of Charlottesville, USA. The Alt-Right had joined forces, Ku-Klux-Klan supporters showed up with open visors and bur-ning torches. At the end of that day, two police officers and the coun-ter-demonstrator Heather Heyer were dead.

11.50-1.20 am: The Second AttackRomnoKher B7, No. 16Languages: German, Turkish. English subtitlesFilm by Mala Reinhardt, 62 min, 2018. Panel discussion with Mala Rein-hardt, Patrick Lohse, Özge Pınar Sarp, Ibrahim Arslan, and Ayşe Güleç. In view of continuing racist riots, the inadequate clarification of the NSU complex and the entry of the AfD into the political landscape of the FRG, May Phương, Ibrahim and Osman have made a decision: they will no longer remain silent. Their stories weave into each other in the process. And while they advocate a complete clarification and an end to violence, a network of people who have experienced something similar begins to emerge.

1.25-3.25 am: We have to talk hadi!RomnoKher B7, No. 16 - *WE TALK I and Il will take place simulta-neously. Please see the notice board. WE TALK I *: We can build together, one step at a time!In many cities, a large network of black people and People of Color (BPoC) activists has been formed over the past few years, bringing together inter-sectional, solidarity-based perspectives. We would like to build on this in Mannheim and the Rhine-Neckar region. We are here to establish structu-res. Our topics are: racial profiling, Copwatch, art and culture productions, and political education work.

WE TALK II*: The Round Table on Migration invites you to the Finale of the Mannheim NSU TribunalIn the lament about the victims of racist violence, the mechanisms of racism and the necessity of strengthening migrant knowledge are formulated. In the indictment, responsibilities are named and structures are offensively fought against. The suit demands recognition of the (post-) migrant realities. The round table tries to question this strategy with regard to its potential for a left-wing transformation policy.

    9.30 am-3.30 pm Exhibitions (see Agenda item FRI 23 November)RomnoKher B7, No. 16

SUPPORTING PROGRAM MAIN PROGRAMFriday, 23. NovKunsthalle – Auditorium, Friedrichplatz 4

5-5.30 pm Opening in memory of Yeliz Arslan, Ayşe Yılmaz, Bahide ArslanThey died in the arson attack in Mölln on 23 November 1992. More than a year has passed since the first Tribunal „Unraveling the NSU Complex“ in Cologne. There have been and there are incidents of further racist violence against refugees as well as attacks on migrantised restaurants and at the same time new initiatives have emerged. The Tribunal in Mannheim de-velops the ideas of the Cologne Tribunal further and continues the stories of the struggles.

5.30-7 pm We work here and live here!Realities of Migrant and Temporary workers in FRG und GDRFrom the early 1950s onwards, and in the GDR from the early 1960s on-wards, workers from other countries came to both the German states. Living and working conditions were symbols not only of discrimination, but also of economic over-exploitation. Some spontaneous strikes against the-se conditions have become legendary. Resul Kalfa (Mannheim), Paulino Miguel (Heidelberg), Mitat Özdemir (Köln), Moderated by: Maria Alexopou-lou (Mannheim)

7.15-8.15 pm I recognized many of themAttacks and Pogroms„Since then, I watch television before I leave the house” (Paulino Mi-guel). From the perspectives of the people who have experienced ra-cist violence, it will become clear what it means to be subjected to it. Migrants or people who are classified as such are still insulted, chased through the streets, beaten, robbed of their livelihood, and murdered.

9-10 pm We will get back our rights!Emergence of the Civil Rights Movement of the Sinti and RomaBureaucracies in which files disappear and years in which past does not move on. The race researchers, a deadly science, came from Tübingen and remained in public service after 1945. Anton Lehmann was shot dead in Heidelberg. What did the child see behind the door? Who else knows what happened? The door that was forced open, a Molotov cock-tail somewhere else. A community demands rights and demonstrates. Gianni Jovanovic, Johann Lehmann and Ilona Lagrene. Moderation by Esther Dischereit.

    Saturday, 24.NovKunsthalle – Auditorium, Friedrichplatz 4

12-1 pm From the Fall of the Wall to the Nail BombIbrahim Arslan and Can Candan Ibrahim Arslan is a survivor of the arson attack in Mölln on 23 November 1992 and an activist. He talks to the filmmaker Can Candan who lives in Turkey (his film can be viewed on 22 November). Can Candan´s film” Duvarlar-Mauern-Walls” is set in the time after the fall of the Berlin Wall and German reunification. They talk about the continuity of racism from the fall of the Berlin Wall to the nail bomb (bomb attack of the NSU) and migrant knowledge.

1.15-2.15 pm Enough talk about us: Now we want to talk!Migrants are not aliens from outer-space but humans beingsIsaiah Ehrauyi is a migrant who lived in the Ellwangen Refugee Housing (LEA) and member of an activist group. As a witness he will speak along with his comrades about the events from 30 April to 5 May 2018 about the police deportation attempt of an asylum seeker from Togo, the migrant resistance and the ensuing police violence in Ellwangen. There was wide media coverage of the case based on police reports and poli-ticians like Seehofer instrumentalised the incident. But all this was done regardless of the migrant perspective. Now the witnesses speak up de-scribing their daily experiences and demand human living conditions, rights, and the solidarity of civil society,

2.30-3.30 pm Angst and Ankerzentren – Institutional Racism and ResistanceNew police laws are being passed, rights are being restricted even more in the name of internal security. This applies in particular to people who are anyway affected by racism. However, another picture is also becoming more and more present in social discourse: Thousands of people ever-ywhere are taking to the streets to combat these grievances. But what do our struggles have in common? What will happen next and what concrete political demands must be implemented now?

4.30-6 pm You said we did it Racist Investigations in the NSU Murders“The Bomb after the Bomb” is what the victims of the bomb attacks in Keupstrasse in 2004 call the racist investigations that were conducted af-terwards. The migrant victims of Nazi attacks were also not supported at the other scenes of crimes. Instead they were humiliated, intimidated, and criminalized not only by the investigating authorities and secret service but by the financial authorities as well. In the murder case of Michéle Kiesewet-ter and the attempted murder of Martin Arnold in Heilbronn, a perpetrator profile was drawn up that, for years, made the Sinti and Roma to be the offenders.

6.15-7.45 pm No Final StrokePart I: No Final StrokeThe Chancellor promised the victims of the NSU terror a complete ex-planation. What were the expectations of the criminal trial in Munich, what were the experiences of the victims in court, what is their view after the verdict, and what can be done next?Part II: Fighting for Memories and the Politics of CommemorationThe official commemoration of the victims of the NSU in the form of memorials is usually contrary to the wishes, ideas, and demands of the relatives. Ayşe Güleç from the Initiative 6.April and Ulf Aminde, artist of the planned monument in the Keupstrasse in Cologne, report about fighting for memory.

8.15 pm Reclaim and rememberWe lament. We lament about the people who lost their lives, who were attacked and injured as a result of racist violence. The focus is on the knowledge of those affected by racism, who show solidarity with each other: They take the stage to tell their stories, to report about their re-sistance, to make their demands and to express their desires, anger, grief, and hope.

9.05-9.35 pm Indictment and Demand!Racism is a problem for society as a whole. We have widened the indic-tment of the first tribunal „Unraveling the NSU Complex” 2017 in Colo-gne to be regionally specific. Among other things, it includes the racist and antiziganist investigations in the context of the NSU murder in Heil-bronn, the involvement of the regional Nazi scene with the NSU, as well as the racist riots in Mannheim-Schönau. Not only do we indict, we also demand that the public should no longer just watch and make a referen-ce to our immediate environment.

9.45-10.45 pm Give me the Good LifeFrom gangster rap to intervention. Hip hop, political strategies and em-powerment. A discussion evening between politics and music.Tonight young people and hip hop enthusiasts from all over Germany will meet in a cosy atmosphere to arrange a bassy and clever sample of solid tracks and political analyses. We trace the vibes of our different, political everyday lives. What is going on in Germany at the moment? Will the world soon end or has the time come to make a wish? Are we using all conceivable means or would we rather back a Trojan horse?
