TRANSCRIPT
The Adams County Extension Council has been
elected by the people of the county to guide local
educational programming by partnering with
extension staff. From needs assessment through
program implementation and evaluation of outcomes,
the council represents you and your issues. We are
always serving Iowans and we are here for you.
Now. Always.
Thank you for your support.
Serving the People of Adams County
As Iowans adjusted to life during the COVID-19 pandemic,
ISU Extension and Outreach continued to prioritize health
and safety as we delivered research-based education to the
people of Adams County. During 2021 we focused on the
following efforts.
ServSafe® Certified Food Protection Manager course.
The Extension Council offered a scholarship for
individuals who wanted to become ServSafe® certified in
the county. They paid for half of the enrollment fee in the
class which was held March 30, 2021. Six people
participated in this class, with three passing the
ServSafe® exam.
Child Care Training. A child care training, Safe Food for
a Healthy Future, was held on April 6, 2021 in
partnership with Union and Ringgold County. One

Showcasing 4-H at the County
Fair
The Adams County Fair returned in 2021,
providing the opportunity for youth to
demonstrate what they had learned
throughout the year.
Iowa State University Extension and
Outreach Adams County held a StoryWalk®
during the Adams County Fair which was a
great opportunity to involve the youth of the
county by posting poster boards with book
pages around the fair grounds. At the end of
the StoryWalk®, each family received a copy
of the featured book, “Fair Cow,”
compliments of Adams County Extension.
Working toward Recovery
As our state works toward recovery, ISU Extension and Outreach Adams County has been working to:
Support Iowans in reviving the Iowa economy, including the farm economy.
The Adams County Extension is continuing to partner with local organizations to help revive the economy in Adams County. One organization in particular that we have partnered with is Community Economic Vitality and are working towards joining forces to revive the Adams County economy.
Looking ahead to 2022, ISU Extension and Outreach Adams County will continue offering ServSafe® classes as well as partner with other counties in our region to reach residents with childcare classes. We will also continue offering Private and Commercial Pesticide Applicator opportunities as well as Manure Applicator. These will be a combination of classes and opportunities to view the training separately as able.
