C13Resident Sexuality & Intimacy: Where Do We Go Together?

Person-directed and person-centered supports ensure residents have opportunities to make informed choices and are supported in managing the risks that come with some decisions, such as expressions of sexuality in long-term care settings. Providers have a direct role in helping people to live lives that are well-balanced where risk and protection are involved and can face challenges associated with assessing a resident’s capacity to consent to some of these relationships.

• Analyze the points of view of residents, families, providers, regulators, and advocates when residents wish to have sexual relationships.

C15Tools To Negotiate Managed Care Contracts

As health care costs continue to escalate, there is growing need to negotiate contracts with managed care organizations (MCOs). These organizations always are looking for discounted rates, which presents a challenge to providers who are facing rising costs and more legal requirements. A common mistake made by many providers is to only look at the

payment rates presented in managed care contracts. While those rates are important, there are other provisions in the contracts that also are important.

What does this mean for our senior living clients? For our senior living clients the acquisition will (1) significantly expand our fixed income business, (2) bolster our research capabilities, and (3) expand our distribution channels to financial institutions. We are enthused about the continued growth of our taxable sales effort which is important to our clients in an era without tax-exempt advance refundings and for those wanting greater flexibility in the use of proceeds. Piper Sandler continues to innovate, offering robust financing solutions and deep industry expertise for senior living clients. As your partner, we are committed to achieving your financial goals and fulfilling your mission.
