At the youngest ages or the beginning of the college recruiting process, this is the
number one question you should be asking yourself as a player and also as a family.

College Recruiting Letters
First Impression Letter – Hand Written
•Introduction
•Information on you as a player, your team, and who you play for
•Express interest in the coaches school
•Express interest in the coaches program
•Information on where the coach can see you or where you will be
•You (and/or parents) contact information
Follow Up Letter – Email
•Brief email to coaches regarding a upcoming event or outcome of an event
•Thank You email for attending event
Or
•Thank You email for a meeting or ID Clinic or Campus Visit
NEVER should the parents be sending these letters.
Applying for the NCAA Clearing House
Step 1: Register as a student athlete online at www.eligibilitycenter.org (recommended
before Junior year)
*There is a FEE for the service and is usually around $90.00
Step 2: After registration, visit Student Services at HS and have transcripts sent to the
NCAA Clearinghouse.
Step 3: Test Scores (ACT or SAT) must be sent directly from them to Clearinghouse,
choose
Step 4: Review full Clearinghouse document from our FCE website and the
Clearinghouse website as there is more information on different processes depending on
what division you would like to play at.
