What is the “Catch-up Schedule”
• Provides minimum intervals between doses for children whose vaccinations have been delayed
• Some things to note: A vaccine series does not need to be re-started
Use only that section appropriate for a child’s age
Always use the “Catch-up’ schedule in conjunction with 2018 Immunization Schedule
Hepatitis B Vaccine
Hepatitis B Vaccine • Intramuscular (IM) injection
• Routine 3-dose series: birth, 1 to 2 months, 6 months
• 4 doses permissible Birth dose plus combination vaccine (DTaP-IPV-HepB) at 2, 4, and 6
months

Hepatitis B Vaccine: Catch-up
• Minimum age for first dose: birth
• Minimum interval between dose 1 and dose #2: 4 weeks
• Minimum interval between dose #2 & dose #3: 8 weeks
AND at least 16 weeks after the first dose
• Final dose (3rd or 4th dose) should be given no earlier than age 24 weeks

Rotavirus Vaccine
Rotavirus Vaccine • Oral vaccination
• RotaTeq® (Merck) - RV5
3 dose series, given orally
• 2, 4, and 6 months
• Rotarix® (GSK) – RV1
2 dose series, given orally
• 2 and 4 months
• If any dose in the series was RotaTeq® or unknown, then give a total of 3 doses.
