Dear Educator, The Great Valley Museum (GVM) has a long history of assisting classroom teachers. Our expertise is bringing science and nature to your students. Our Outreach Traveling Teacher programs and tours of the museum are the staples of our proud heritage. Using the Next Generation Science Standards (NFSS) as a guide, we offer a multitude of programs on science and nature topics. We are flexible, mobile and can provide these programs at our museum, parks, classrooms or other educational sites. Throughout the year we can offer a free short presentation that gives teachers an overview of the museums educational programs and services. This presentation can be presented at your school and is perfect for an in-service workshop, faculty meeting, PTA meeting or service club meeting. A two week advance notice is required. The museum has regular supporters who over the years have contributed to our mission. Those groups include Omega Nu, Sylvan Improvement Club, Delta Kappa Gama Epsilon Nu Chapter and Retired Teachers of Stanislaus County. They have generously supported the GVM’s educational programs by providing funds for supplies, resources and materials. Our dedicated staff of Traveling Teachers and docents are here to help you with your education needs. For more information on our programs, tours or classes, please contact the GVM by phone at 209-575-6196 or by email at [email protected]. Great Valley Museum Modesto Junior College www.mjc.edu/gvm
