TRANSCRIPT
We pause to remember the uniqueness of this place. We honour and respect the generations of the Gadigal people
of the Eora nation who held this land in their Dreaming. We pay respect to their on-going role in the life of this region
and to their elders. We ask that their spirit ancestors walk beside us today.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY
We pledge to work together in the Marist tradition towards a truly reconciled nation.
We acknowledge the Marist Brothers who have been on this site for over 90 years.
May we continue to live in harmony as a true Marist Community and remember that we are all Created in the Image and likeness of God.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY
As Marists, let us be people of faith who know the presence of God. Like Saint Marcellin, let us live every day with the consciousness that God is part of our world and desires to be known and experienced in our lives.
We pray as one: Gracious God, hear our prayer.
As Marists, let our faith be seen in our struggle for justice; the struggle of the poor, the young people who feel no one cares…that God doesn’t care.
We pray as one: Gracious God, hear our prayer.
As Marists, let our faith be seen in our struggle for people suffering fear and depression, for those whose sadness and worries seem to never end.
We pray as one: Gracious God, hear our prayer.
As Marists, let our faith be seen in the struggle of a culture whose thirst for information and distraction closes eyes and hearts to the experience of God’s gentle and powerful presence.
We pray as one: Gracious God, hear our prayer.
As Marists, we pause for the prayers in our own hearts.
We pray as one: Gracious God, hear our prayer.
Father, we know that no prayer, spoken or unspoken, is unknown to you. Hear our prayers as we come before you with faith and love. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen.
St Mary of the Cross… Pray for us.
St Marcellin Champagnat… Pray for us.
Mary, Our Good Mother… Pray for us.

ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank)
Entry into University usually depends on your ATAR
Rank: reported on a scale of 0 – 99.95 calculated by universities (every .05 represents 40 students)
Must include: best 2 units of English and best remaining 8 units from Board Developed Courses
Scaling issues: HSC marks give some indication only. The standard of candidates work in different courses is compared and scaled against each other according to achievement in common areas.
Marcellin College Randwick
MODIFIED MARKS (HSC and ATAR)HSC School Assessment marks: Raw marks are moderated by exam performance to give ‘Modified Assessment Marks’ Exam marks: Raw exam marks are judged against standards of achievement and mapped against set “cut-off” points to produce ‘Modified Exam Marks’
ATAR Various raw marks undergo linear transformation
(equal maximums), standardisation (bell curving), scaling (weighting course candidature) to produce a total of best ten units, to rank everyone
