LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT AND CEOIt has been over two decades since Bay East owned an office building. When we sold the property at 21144 Mission Blvd, in Hayward in 1994, our
membership had dropped to its lowest point in our history. We had about 2,200 members and were limited in the services we could provide. Today, we
are over twice the size. After purchasing our new office in late 2015, we have spent this year moving and settling in to our new home. With the new
facility, we are able to provide even more Education, MLS, Professional Development Training, Networking, and Membership Services. It is one of the
reasons over 25% of Bay East members have joined us from outside of our traditional service jurisdictions; because we offer the best service at the
lowest prices.
It is also one of the main reasons that two associations (Northern California Commercial Association of REALTORS® and Alameda Association of
REALTORS®) merged with us. Combined, the two associations represent about a 10% increase in overall membership. What does that mean for all Bay
East members? We now have even greater resources, so we can continue to expand programs that help you succeed as real estate professionals. We
have added evening classes. We offer Saturday Orientation and Saturday hours and events. We worked hard to expand our data share with
MLSListings, so our MLS users can access all South Bay and Silicon Valley listings through a single point of entry into the Paragon MLS. We also
introduced three new Mobile MLS Apps (Homesnap, HomeSpotter and myTHEO), designed to help you be more efficient when working with your
clients.
This Annual Report is filled with a summary of our achievements in 2016. I hope you take a few minutes to look through it. You might learn about
services you didn’t know we have…and you’ll get a sense of how much we care about serving our members.
As you read this, we’re already working hard to bring you more tools, training and services for 2017. It is our honor to serve each and every
member, and we thank you for belonging to Bay East.
Sincerely,
Kim Ott, President
Tricia Thomas, CEO

I was more than happy that they were able
to help me with my issue. I was going to
show five homes and could not access my
lock box. They calmed me and walked me
through it. My showings were a success.
Thanks to those who assisted me.

I am so glad that I came to class today. I input a listing this morning on my own, but I have learned so much in this class (Paragon Listing Input). When I input another listing next time, it will be perfect!

MEMBER EVENTS
We invited our members to tour and celebrate our new home. Local elected officials, C.A.R. and NAR leaders were in attendance.
Taking advantage of the ability to use our building during the weekends, members came to our Saturday Farmer’s Markets to attend “bite-sized” classes that better fit their
schedule.
Members exchanged their Supra keys to the new XpressKey or mobile application eKey during the key exchange.
The Housing Opportunities Committee hosts monthly Roundtables addressing hot topics affecting the
real estate industry, bringing experts and members together for discussion.
