Pedagogy refers to the art and science of teaching, which resides at the heart of our Teacher Training Programs. In other words, how you learn and how you are taught is a fundamental part of our programming and core philosophy.

Based on years of experience and study in Educational philosophy, Kula’s program has been designed to empower you as a student and as a teacher.

We work to help you be a confident and independant learner, to develop critical thinking skills, to discern and problem solve through exploration and self-discovery, and to intelligently extend your knowledge beyond the context of our course.

We also recognize that students learn in different ways, and therefore we draw on myriad pedagogical techniques to ensure empowerment in the learning process.

The only recommendation for our programs is a developed and dedicated yoga practice. This deeper practice and study program requires a willingness to connect further and to explore with an open heart!

OUR EMPHASIS AND COMMITMENT TO HOW YOU LEARN

“Taking the Advanced Study and Teacher Training Program at Kula was a significantly defining and pivotal experience in my life. In addition to providing me with a solid understanding of the practical aspects of teaching yoga, the program helped me cultivate a much deeper understanding of my inner self, a stronger connection to my higher self, and a profoundly different perspective on the world and my place within it.

It has given me greater access to my own capacity for healing, growth and transformation.

I have more clarity and focus as I move forward in life – as a stronger, wiser and more compassionate being than I was before.”

Thanks for a beautiful course. It changed my life.

STUDENTS WHO COMPLETE THIS PROGRAM CAN EXPECT A RADICALLY TRANSFORMED UNDERSTANDING OF THE PRACTICE OF YOGA AND THE HUMAN BODY, AND A STRENGTHENED RELATIONSHIP WITH THEIR PRACTICE.

YOGA IS THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO BE CURIOUS ABOUT WHO YOU ARE.

- JULIE, 13/14 GRAD

“Kula’s teacher training program has transformed my life; helped me to uncover my dharma and live it. The teachers create a wonderful environment for learning, discovering and living yoga. I was worried about spending too much time away from my young children, however I have found that my time at TT has been an incredible blessing, not just for me, but for my whole family. I have not only developed a deep understanding of asana and yoga practice, but I have also cultivated gratitude for all areas of my life. My heart is bigger for having participated.”

I went into the program to deepen my yoga practice. I came out with an increased depth in my being and in my life. Yoga is no longer something I ‘do’ a few times a week. Yoga is my life. My life IS yoga

- WENDY, 11/12 GRAD

- JEN, 11/12 GRAD

“I no longer fear the unknown, the training helped me to connect with myself, my family and my friends on a deeper level. “

“I signed up for the Kula Teacher Training program thinking that it would be similar to teacher trainings I have taken before. I felt as though I would deepen my yoga practice, learn more about the history of yoga - and learn how to teach some of the yoga postures.

What I gained was something totally different. I began to recognize my inner self, and began to recognize what yoga means for me in my life.

The training was truly amazing, and I would recommend the program to anyone who was thinking about a Yoga Training either to teach, deepen their practice, or learn more about their inner being.

I am so grateful to have been a part of the program and to learn from such exceptional instructors. Thank you for

sharing so much with me, and assisting me in my yoga journey!”
