As the Government forges ahead with its proposed cuts to university funding, It got me thinking. ‘How will the cuts impact marketing departments who already identify budgets as a major challenge in trying to achieve their aims‘. Personally, I think marketers will have to work harder and innovate to get their content marketing buzzing. In 2014, content marketing will be bigger than ever. So here goes, my predictions of hot trends for content and social marketing for 2014 for the higher education marketing: 1.Mobile friendly and responsive content will be a must – find me a student that doesn’t own a smartphone! 2.Leverage video – its content rich and highly engaging 3.Image centric content will continue to grow 4.The website user experience must be competitive 5.Marketers will Integrate social and traditional into mobile marketing strategies 6.The popularity of co-creating and crowd-sourcing content will continue to rise 7.Increased use of storytelling will make messages sing 8.Measuring social ROI and using big data will remain challenges http://blog.criterionconferences.com/
