WELCOME

The Power of Partnerships:

Partnership has many definitions and facets. California Human Development views partnerships as a relationship between individuals or groups that is characterized by mutual cooperation and responsibility, in the achievement of a specified goal. After more than 45 years of Creating Opportunities, we know that no one individual, single funder, lone entity or a single point of view can impact significant or lasting community change. We also know that our partnerships are more than MOUs and contracts. We believe in the relationships that stand behind these paper tools.

With every personal endorsement or private sector contribution we accept, we have a responsibility to do the right thing with the trust placed in us. Beyond good stewardship of monies, we have a duty to uphold standards and deliver on outcomes that meet the needs of those we serve.

With every contract we sign the expectations are no less than that of the private sector. We know we have hard work to do, but our service methods and our expertise have stood the test of time, and, with our partners, we make real change happen for real people everyday.

Our community based partner organizations are fellow community change-makers who are on the front lines of the War on Poverty and Intolerance in our communities. Through best practices we join a network of CBOs working to make people better than they were yesterday, more whole as individuals and families, better equipped to make needed changes in their lives and to keep themselves on a path for ongoing success and self-sufficiency.

When all of these partners come together and focus on community needs where each can bring their best to the task at hand, we are truly harnessing the power of partnerships.

Many thanks to each of you for allowing us to partner with you. We appreciate all that is done collectively everyday to Create Opportunities through drawing from the awesome power of partnerships!

E xploding on the jaz z scene of the 2004 debut CD, "Through The Valley", Travis quickly became a smash hit with radio and concer tgoers alike. A cross bet ween Santana meets Wes Montgomer y, 2007 marked a new chapter in Travis's career, with his release “Just Let It Flow.” Since the 2007 release, Travis Vega became one of the youngest emerging composers and the smooth jaz z genre, contributing music that has stood the test of t ime. Also in 2007, Travis found great success touring the West Coast , bringing his f lare for enter taining and stage presence to many highlighted per formances, including the San Jose Jaz z Festival , the Crocker Ar t Jaz z Series, playing for Smooth Jaz z radio stations, the River KRVR 105. 5, Sacramento's K SSJ 94.7 and Reno's Smooth Jaz z station 92.1, just to name a few. Smooth jaz z radio, both of f and online took notice to Travis's work ; radio shows such as the Smooth Groovers Review, Fusion Flavours, The River 105. 5, Bay Smooth Jaz z , Smoothjaz z .com, Reno's Smooth Jaz z 92.1, Echo Smooth Jaz z , Smooth Jaz z Web, Sk y FM and many, many more gravitated towards this “genre -bending” release, combining elements that seemed to bring it to a full Smooth Jaz z c ycle, f rom pop, dance, R&B and world.

2008 star ts another chapter for Travis , with his latest release SMOOTH URBAN NIGHT. This CD is by far his greatest work to date, combining his love of retro grooves, strong hook s, and si lk y smooth melodies, Vega lets loose and opens up to wonder ful results , making the guitars sing, while ef for tlessly f lowing through fast melodic runs. His passion of choice, is of course, his love of the Spanish guitar, which is showcased beautifully on L ATIN KNIGHTS and NITE FLOW, always giving that Vega touch of sophistication.
