As fxed operations managero Essendon Volkswagen, Ihave been working closely withKangan Institute or the lastour years on their internationalstudent program.

Essendon Volkswagen has gone on to employeesix o seven students that have been with us ortraining. Without doubt this has been a hugepart o our success in the last our years.

I believe we all recognise the shortage ocommitted people to the automotive trade; I basethis on having an advertisement or a technicianor the last month with no success. Yet KanganInstitute and Frank, one o the trainers, seemto have the right people with the key skills andattitude to join a proud yet much underrated trade.

I can only hope that this program continues asit is bringing depth o ability to a very underresourced trade.

I completed a diploma oautomotive technology atRichmond Campus. I it wasnot or the continued help andsupport rom a select ew teacherswithin the automotive area I wouldnot be here in this country today.

My trainer Frank Paciocco secured my workplacement at Essendon Volkswagen where Icontinue to be employed. I have been ast tracked

into their management team and currently help torun their pre- delivery department, which I love. Iit wasnt or dedicated teachers who go the extramile to help us international students, I imaginethat most o us would head back to our owncountries once we nish our schooling.

He was not only a teacher, but a mentor and now Iam proud to call him my riend. My ellow studentsand I always elt a part o the Richmond amily andFrank was the leader in making us eel welcomeand not just a number.

I am very proud to belong to the Kangan amily andwould happily recommend the program to anybodywho is interested in the automotive industry.
