Project:
The students will
create a book with
four different
pictures that help
illustrate a poem that
is read to them in
class. Each picture
will show the poem
in different stages.
Did not create book
correctly by
following the
instructions and did
not finish all four
pictures.
Completed some of
the pictures, but did
not add detail to
their drawings.
Completed all of the
pictures and added
in some detail.
Completed the book
and the pictures
correctly and had
outstanding details
to add to a
wonderful
illustration.
Identify:
Will be able to
identify four
different scenes
throughout the
poem by creating
drawings that
include: line,
shape, and color.
Could not
distinguish what
scene they were
trying to illustrate
through line, shape,
and color.
Difficult to see
what was being
drawn in some of
the scenes.
Could distinguish
what was being
illustrated;
however details
could have been
more pronounced
by using line,
shape, and color.
Could definitely
see the four
separate scenes of
the poem and the
use of line, shape,
and color was
outstanding.
Create:
Will create a four-
sided book withfour separate
illustrated
drawings of what is
described in the
poem.
Did not fold the
book correctly as
shown in thedemonstration
and did not
complete all four
drawings.
Fold was done
correctly. All four
drawings werecomplete, but the
details are lacking.
Well folded and all
four drawings
were well drawnout and included
some detail.
Outstanding book
that included four
drawings thatheld wonderful
detail.
Overall:
Their work will
include an
understanding of
how to visualize a
scene and draw
in what theyhear.
Craftsmanship
was very poor.
Could have done a
better job by
including more
details and
straight folds.
An understanding
on how to use the
visualizing
technique and
create a scene
from it.
Excellent drawings
and good
craftsmanship. A
well put together
book.
