    FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

    Dear Parents,

I hope you all are in good health and cheer. Between my last message and this one a lot has

happened in this school. I hope you have been keeping pace with the development through our

school portal. We had a very successful annual day program spanning over 3 days. I am sure all of

you must have witnessed one or the other part of this extravaganza. The annual functions are a

statement about the caliber & work of the school. I am sure after witnessing the functions you must

be convinced that your child is in the best school of Ahmedabad.

There are some things which I am still concerned about. Firstly, I find that the school attendance of

your ward is taken casually by some of you. I know we live in a country which has lot of festivals

and social events but I am also aware that regularity in school is very important for the overall

growth of your child. In this regards I would like to point out what damage can be done when a

child misses even a single day. The teachers move ahead with the syllabus and a very important

concept missed during the absence of your child would weaken his knowledge and understanding of

    the entire chapter.

I can‟t even imagine the damage that can be caused in case a child misses school for five or six

days. I am sad to say that not only do the children miss school but they find a lot of support from

their parents regarding it. Please help us in our effort to make sure that the child comes to school

    regularly.

I am also concerned about some parents constantly take offense when we initiate a disciplinary

action against a child or a group of children. Let me assure you that the school and the teachers are

the best friends of your child. Any action taken against him/her is in the best interest of the child. It

may appear a bit painful but so does a bitter pill or an injection given by the doctor is not something

that a patient likes. But it certainly does well and brings the patient back to normal or health level. I

request you to please consider us as good doctors who are interested in the well being of your child.

    Save Birds Campaign

Birds are nature's gift to this wonderful creation and we should not turn our backs towards these

mute beings. Then why are we so careless? Keeping this in mind it was decided to save these

    innocent winged friends.

The students of DPS Bopal were privileged to be a part of the Save Birds campaign as a part of the

Green School Drive that the school has taken up. The students were glad to be able to spread

awareness about the mass killing of birds in Uttarayan. This was a difficult project, but learning that

people wish to contribute yet celebrate Uttarayan was a new experience for the students. Usually

we only think about flying kites but it was a surprise that people of Ahmedabad have shown

concern about the safety of the birds and the importance of their survival. The research was guided

    by Ms.Sangeeta Srivastava.

A video was shot, which educates people on the killing of birds by deadly manja. The video was
