Fantasy Land: Fancy Dress Competition (Class I & II) Fantasy and imagination are the building blocks of a child‟s intellectual and creative ability. To
allow their imagination to bloom and enhance their creativity, DPS Bopal provided an informal
platform to its class I and II students through the Fancy dress Competition with the theme:
Fantasy Land held on 1.5.14. All the students participated confidently and enthusiastically. The
event was enjoyed by one and all and proved to be a big success.

DPS Wonderland: Fancy Dress Competition (Class III to V) On 26
th July, Fancy Dress Competition was held for classes III to V. All the students came
dressed in colourful costumes and avatars. There were fairies, zombies, doctors, football
players, politicians, rock stars and many more all around. The school seemed to be like a
“wonderland”. It was a thrilling moment to see our children perform and speak on who they
are. All the children participated enthusiastically to put in their best. We also appreciate the
hard work and efforts of the parents to prepare their child and making the props. Best performer
was awarded from each section.

“Just a minute” – Game ( Classes III to V) “Just a minute” competition was held in the Primary Section of DPS BOPAL on 28-7-14, 31-7-
14 and 5-8-14. The children participated with great passion and enthusiasm. It was interactive
and quite informative. The students of all the houses presented themselves confidently. The
moments were resilient . One house which scored the maximum was the winner from each

Ad on Healthy Food’ Competition Grade I and II
With the growing popularity of unhealthy processed food amongst the young generation, to
seek to generate interest in healthy food and derive awareness of healthy food habits, has
become all the more imperative. We, at DPS Bopal, achieved it effortlessly through conducting
an „Ad on Healthy Food‟ comp on 2.8.14 for class I and II, wherein the students used
innovative ways and creative techniques to advertise „Healthy Food and Healthy Food Habits‟
to their peers, seniors and teachers through their presentations and displays. The event not only
provided them a good exposure but also generated a significant direct response and hence
proved out to be the most efficient way to deliver our message to our students.

Science Quiz Competition(Classes III to V)
“Inter House Science Quiz” competition was held in the Primary Section of DPS BOPAL on
25-8-14, 26-8-14 and 27-8-14 for classes III to V respectively. Six participants from each house
were elected to represent their house. The children participated with great zeal and fervor. The
whole event was interactive and quite informative for all. The students showed endless
enthusiasm and support for their respective houses. The knowledge and active participation
shown by the students was praiseworthy. One house which scored the maximum was the
winner from each class.

English Recitation Competition Grade I & II
To enhance their rhythmic qualities of English language and to provide them an opportunity to
discover their recital skills an „English Recitation Competition‟ was organized for the students
of class I and II on 28-08-14. The concept helped the students to express their imaginative,
emotional, intellectual skills through beautiful poems of their choice. They excelled in
memorizing and reciting the poetry , with confidence and with great control in voice
modulation.

Poem Recitation - Class III
Poetry is the essence of literature. To spread the aroma of poetry; the English poem recitation
competition was held on 18 September 2014 for class III in DPS Bopal .Beauty is the realm of
the poetry, the children enjoyed the beauty of expression, thoughts, feeling, rhyme ,rhythm and
music of words. Taking all these facts into consideration the children got an opportunity to
exhibit their talent and confidence. The children chose a variety of topics for their recitation
like nature, trees, flower, mother, teacher, unity in diversity etc. with a lot of zeal and
enthusiasm. The competition was conducted in the respective class rooms from where one
winner from each was selected by the class teacher and they received certificates in the
assembly on 22 September 2014 by respected Head Mistress ma‟am. .. Certain poems recited,
managed to create images in the minds. The fine poetry enlivened the mood and enabled the
children to develop taste and appreciation for Poetry. The aroma of Poetry shall linger on and
on and on . . . for days altogether.

Hindi ‘Sahi Shabd Batao’ Competition(Classes I & II)
Hindi „Sahi Shabd Batao‟ Competition was conducted in Abhivyakti on 23.9.14. The event
was divided in two different parts, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m for class I and 11:30 to 12:30 pm for class
II. The sections were divided into four teams competing with each other, facing five different
rounds from simple to complex. There were filler questions for the audience, making it more
interactive and engaging. It was fun to see the participants facing dilemmas and making
decisions, no doubt the pressure and nervousness was equally palpable on their faces. The
competition taught them the value of patience, determination and self-discipline. Won or lost
but they all gained experience and exposure.

English Recitation Competition – Classes IV and V
Recitation develops vocabulary, articulation, expression and communication. It enables the
student to effortlessly exploit inner talents and in the bargain constructs confidence. Keeping
this in mind "An English Poem Recitation Competition" was organized for classes IV and V
children on 29 September 14. Teachers encouraged the students to take part in the competition.
During the recitation each child presented the poem with action in-front of other students. It
was an excellent opportunity for the children to exhibit their talent and gain confidence. One
winner from each class was selected by the class teacher. The students were then awarded
appreciation certificates by H.M ma‟am at the end of the day

Flower Making Competition - Class III to V
On 15 October 2014 all the little warriors of DPS Bopal Classes III to V turned into creative
artists. As there was a flower making competition organized in the school for them. The
students participated whole heartedly to show the creative aspect of their mind. They made
everyone awestruck giving a tough challenge to most of us with the perfection they crafted
beautiful flowers all by themselves without being helped. It was a very difficult task for the
class teacher to declare one winner from the class. Students were judged on the basis of
creativity and neatness. Within 30 minutes all the classes from III to V turned into picturesque
flowery room. Their art was displayed in the respective classrooms and winners were given
certificates the next day by Head Mistress ma‟am.

JAM : ‘Just A Minute’ Math Quiz Competition(Classes I &II)
Aimed to arouse the student‟s interest in quick and logical thinking „Just A Minute‟, Math Quiz
Competition was held in Abhivyakti for class I and II on 14th
and 16th of October‟14,
respectively. Each class had five teams, consisting of two participants from each section. The
questions were based on mental ability, understanding and application of the concepts taught so
far. There were four different rounds from simple to complex namely: Spatial, Guess-the-
Pattern, Quick-thinkers, in class I and Number-Ka-Dhamaal, Mystery-Ki-History, Ek-Minute-
Me-Kuch-Bhi-Ho-Sakta-Hai and lastly the nail-biting, Rapid Fire round, common in both the
classes. Filler questions for the audience kept the atmosphere highly charged up throughout.

Clay Modeling Competition – Grade I and II
The fact that „there will always be the need for design‟ and with the Designing Industry bec
oming the next big thing, it has become important to introduce „design‟ early in the age,
irrespective of the size of the learning platform. Bob-the-Builder, a Clay Modeling
Competition was held on 25th November‟14 to motivate our grade I and II students to pursue
their interest in clay modeling/design.
The students enthusiastically put their imagination to work and came up with beautifully
structured models of their favourite vegetables, fruits, animals etc. With the amount of
perfection put in by the students and the effects of different colours, the models seemed to have
come alive.
The event gave the students an opportunity to demonstrate their creative confidence and artistic
stroke, fulfilling their colorful desires and fantasy needs, alongside. One winner from each class
was declared as the winner.

Inter- Class Quiz Competition
Learning through quizzes and competitions is always fun and enjoyed by the students of
primary section rather than lecture method teaching. So DPS Bopal organised Mathemind
Quiz competition for classes III to V on 27.11.14 . It was an inter class competition conducted
in respective classes by the class teacher. The class was divided into six groups. The
questionnaire was based on three rounds: Relay round, Visual round and Rapid fire round. The
students showed their intellect and participated with utmost zeal to win points. The quiz was
thoroughly enjoyed by all the classmates. Great display of teamwork was put forth by the
teammates and in a way children also learned the importance of teamwork. The winning team
from each class was acknowledged with a team certificate.
Futsal Competition (Classes I and II) Every game is winnable if you change your mind about what the prize should be and the
perspective about the players in the field…was the message conveyed subtly through Futsal
Competition, a sports team activity, which was held on the 23rd
of January 2015 for grade I
and 27th
January 2015 for grade II at the DPS Bopal Skating Rink.
Spread around the huge grassy patch of the rink were the students of all the sections cheering
aloud for the teams of their respective classes and to watch them compete. The players looked
very much focused and determined to either win the game or change the game. It was extreme
fun for the audience to watch it from close proximity, with each team clearly visible as the
players dodged the ball through the hurdles and scored the goal. The event was a great success
looking at the excitement levels of the students and the unstoppable hooting from all sides not
only for their own classmates but for almost every team and participant.

Physical activity and sports plays an essential role in a child‟s physical, social and
psychological development. As a healthy soul and mind resides in a healthy body. With this
belief DPS organized Kho- Kho and Kabaddi Inter House competition for classes III to V. The
participants displayed a great show of teamwork, robustness and winning spirit. Rest of the
children was nonetheless in cheering and boosting the moral of their candidate player. The
whole environment was filled with huge thunder claps, cheering and catchy slogans that the
little ones were using to encourage their candidates and support their house. All the participants
were well trained and guided about the game rules and regulations to be followed. All the sports
teachers perfectly executed the whole competition and kept a vigilant eye on their movements‟
.Overall the competition was thoroughly enjoyed by all the teachers present and the students.

INTER HOUSE IT QUIZ COMPETITION- IX AND X
Inter House IT quiz was held for classes IX & X on 28/8/14. TCS Quiz Zonal Champion Master
Anshul Roy conducted the Inter House IT Quiz at AV Room. The Quiz comprised of four rounds: Dry
Round, Identify X, Visual Round and Buzzer Round. Students enjoyed quiz and appreciated questions
asked which were very informative.
Ganga House was winner .Sabarmati House was 1st Runner Up .Tapti House was 2nd
Runner Up.
INTER HOUSE PANTOMIME COMPETITION- IX AND X
Delhi Public School, Bopal Ahmedabad conducted „Pantomime‟ an Inter House Competition for its
students of Std IX and X on 16th October 2014 in Abhivyakti. Pantomime is a theatrical entertainment
which involves music, topical jokes based on a fairy tale or nursery story usually produced around
Christmas, it originated in Roman mime in which performers express meaning through gestures
accompanied by music.
The six houses put up a great show by enthusiastically participating in the event .Each team acted on a
particular theme like „Mobile Manners‟, Mr. Bean in India and cleanliness‟ etc. Ganga house was
declared the winner.
Ms. Vandna Joshi, Sr. Vice Principal of the school, in her address to the students appreciated the
student‟s efforts and reminded them of the famous proverb „Action speaks louder than words‟.
The programme ended with the handing over the certificate to the winning team.
INTRA SCHOOL QUIZ
Quiz Club of DPS Bopal hosted an Intra School Quiz Competition for students of Grade VII to XII on
12/11/14 at AV room. Mr Bhushan Patel, co owner of Quiz Tree, the renowned quizzing company
based in Vadodara was the quiz master. Mr Bhushan took the students on an interesting journey from
origin of DPS schools, galaxy, Bollywood, Hollywood, natural science, Raja Ravi Verma etc. He made
the students work out the answers by giving them subtle hints wherever necessary.
Smeet Madlani ,Director of Quiz Club together with Anshul Roy planned and hosted the event. Sr.Vice
Principal Ms Vandana Joshi acknowledged all the participants and organisers.
INTER HOUSE PANTOMIME COMPETITION- VII AND VIII
An Inter-house Pantomime Competition was held on 13 November, 2014 for classes VII and VIII in
Abhivyakti. The students of all sections of classes VII and VIII were the audience. The competition
was judged by Ms. Joyshree Rao and Ms. Shivani Sarin and was organized by Ms. Leena Parekh. The
occasion was graced by the presence of the Vice Principal Ms. Neera Pandey and the Principal Sir.
The winners of the competition were the participants of Mahi House. The second position was bagged
by Narmada House and the third position by Sabarmati House and Kaveri House both. The entire
competition proved to be a very enjoyable one for the students.
INTER HOUSE BEST OUT OF WASTE COMPETITION -VI
An Inter- House „Best Out Of Waste‟ Competition for class VI was held on 13th November 2014 at
Gargi building in first and second period. It was held to inculcate the habit of reusing the waste and
enhance the creativity of the students.
All house students participated with great enthusiasm and good competitive spirit. The first position
was bagged by Mahi House, second by Kaveri House and third by Sabarmati House.
INTER HOUSE ENGLISH ELOCUTION COMPETITION –VII AND VIII
DPS Bopal organized an Inter House English Elocution Competition for classes 7th and 8th, which
was conducted in Abhivyakti on 27/11/14, Thursday. All the Six houses participated in it. The topic for
the event for class 7th was “Youth of Today – Useless or Used less” and for class 8th it was “Role of
Youth Towards a Better Nation”. All the students shared their views on the topic brilliantly; they
showed that truly the future of India is bright and beautiful. The best part was the audience, all sections
of class 7 & 8, who were listening with rapt attention to their friends on stage. The winners list is as

DPS, Bopal organized an Inter House English Elocution Competition for class 6th, which Swas
conducted in Abhivyakti. Elocution broadly means Public speaking. All the Six houses participated in
it. The compeering for the event was also done by class six students, which was very appreciable. The
topic for the event was, “Garbage Reduction- Need of the hour”. All the students shared their views on
the topic brilliantly .The students were judged on their diction, pronunciation, presentation etc. The
best houses who won the prizes were:

3. Mahi house: Kuhuk Patnaik
The event was conducted by all the class 6th class teachers and was a big success.
DPS KA BAAZIGAR – SEASON IV
Delhi Public School, Bopal, Commerce Department, known for tapping the innovating and
entrepreneurial skills of the commerce students in its Commerce Fun Fair, once again took the
initiative in hosting the DPS KA BAAZIGAR SEASON IV. It was held in two phases Round one
consisting of food items, photography and Round 2 was restricted to games only.
The USP of the 15 CEOs was “50% discount on all items”, “Buy one get one free”, “Ek ka Do”--.
People gushed in with so much of enthusiasm to try out innovative business strategies. The school
courtyard was brimming with life, fun and laughter!
All the participating teams about 10 teams in the second round had a thrilling and most memorable
experience.
This fair gave the students to showcase their emotions, talents and made their spirits soar high which
will always be remembered as their first business attempt.
To sum up the display of the business acumen portrayed by the students of the Commerce Department
