God is present to us now, in this mo- ment and at this me. God speaks to us through the ordinary events of human life: birth, edu- caon, living, friendship, marriage, sickness, and death. In our journey of life, God accompanies us and gives to us His wisdom and strength. This grace comes to us through our Sacramental life and, most especially, in the Holy Eucharist. Over the last 6 months, our world has been consumed by the pandemic. We have shut down, stayed at home, paused, and taken great strides to try to contain and migate the spread of this most horrible virus. We are wearing face masks, social distancing, using hand sanizer, and washing our hands frequently. We need to keep doing this. Surrounding us are thousands of medical professionals who are all saying the same thing: do these things to migate the spread of the virus. God has given them the vocaon of healing and of medicine. We need to pay aenon. Weve also seen and connue to see discussions about race, prejudice, bigotry, and hatred. We have needed to address these issues, these sins, as a society for too long. Can our faith be any clearer? God made us, all of us, in His image. God loves us, all of us, as His children and crea- on. Jesus told us to love one another, to love our enemies, to pray for each other, to pray for our enemies. Judge not, the scriptures say clearly. If we profess and believe (as we do!) as Cath- olic Chrisans that God reveals Himself and His will through Sacred Scripture—we cannot ig- nore this. Disturbingly, I have engaged in conversaons with people who do not believe that the COVID- 19 virus is real and that millions of people on this planet have been and are sick and dying from this virus. Disturbingly, I have engaged in conversaons with people who believe there is no rac- ism, no bigotry, no prejudice, nor hatred of others because of their race or ethnicity. There is none so blind as they who refuse to see. Unfortunately, their blindness can hurt us all.

We need to pay attention to what is happening around us. God is present to us now, in this mo-ment and at this time. God speaks to us through the ordinary events of human life: birth, edu-cation, living, friendship, marriage, sickness, and death. In our journey of life, God accompanies us and gives to us His wisdom and strength. This grace comes to us through our Sacramental life and, most especially, in the Holy Eucharist. Over the last 6 months, our world has been consumed by the pandemic. We have shut down, stayed at home, paused, and taken great strides to try to contain and mitigate the spread of this most horrible virus. We are wearing face masks, social distancing, using hand sanitizer, and washing our hands frequently. We need to keep doing this. Surrounding us are thousands of medical professionals who are all saying the same thing: do these things to mitigate the spread of the virus. God has given them the vocation of healing and of medicine. We need to pay attention. We’ve also seen and continue to see discussions about race, prejudice, bigotry, and hatred. We have needed to address these issues, these sins, as a society for too long. Can our faith be any clearer? God made us, all of us, in His image. God loves us, all of us, as His children and crea-tion. Jesus told us to love one another, to love our enemies, to pray for each other, to pray for our enemies. Judge not, the scriptures say clearly. If we profess and believe (as we do!) as Cath-olic Christians that God reveals Himself and His will through Sacred Scripture—we cannot ig-nore this. Disturbingly, I have engaged in conversations with people who do not believe that the COVID-19 virus is real and that millions of people on this planet have been and are sick and dying from this virus. Disturbingly, I have engaged in conversations with people who believe there is no rac-ism, no bigotry, no prejudice, nor hatred of others because of their race or ethnicity. There is none so blind as they who refuse to see. Unfortunately, their blindness can hurt us all.

ENTRANCE ANTIPHON (Psalm 54:6,8) See, I have God for my help. The Lord sustains my soul. I will sacrifice to you with willing heart, and praise your name, O Lord, for it is good. GLORY TO GOD Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father. Lord Je-sus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. COLLECT (OPENING PRAYER) Show favor, O Lord, to your servants and mercifully increase the gifts of your grace, that, made fervent in your hope, faith, and charity, they may be ever watchful in keeping your commands. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. FIRST READING (Wisdom 12: 13, 16-19 ) There is no god besides you who have the care of all, that you need show you have not unjustly condemned. For your might is the source of justice; your mastery over all things makes you lenient to all. For you show your might when the perfection of your pow-er is disbelieved; and in those who know you, you rebuke temerity. But though you are master of might, you judge with clem-ency, and with much lenience you govern us; for power, whenever you will, attends you. And you taught your people, by these deeds, that those who are just must be kind; and you gave your children good ground for hope that you would permit repentance for their sins. RESPONSORIAL PSALM (Psalm 86) R. Lord, you are good and forgiving. You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in kindness to all who call upon you. Hearken, O Lord, to my prayer

and attend to the sound of my pleading. R. All the nations you have made shall come and worship you, O Lord, and glorify your name. For you are great, and you do wondrous deeds; you alone are God. R. You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in kindness and fidelity. Turn toward me, and have pity on me; give your strength to your servant. R. SECOND READING (Romans 8:26-27) Brothers and sisters: The Spirit comes to the aid of our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groan-ings. And the one who searches hearts knows what is the intention of the Spirit, because he intercedes for the holy ones according to God’s will. GOSPEL (Matthew 13:24-43 or 13:24-30) Jesus proposed another parable to the crowds, saying: “The kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field. While everyone was asleep his ene-my came and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off. When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well. The slaves of the householder came to him and said, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come from?’ He answered, ‘An enemy has done this.’ His slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ He replied, ‘No, if you pull up the weeds you might uproot the wheat along with them. Let them grow together until harvest; then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters, “First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning; but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”

He proposed another parable to them. “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in a field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants. It becomes a large bush, and the ‘birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches.’”

He spoke to them another parable. “The kingdom of heav-en is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch was leav-ened.”

All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables. He spoke to them only in parables, to fulfill what had been said through the prophet:

I will open my mouth in parables, I will announce what has lain hidden from the foundation of the world.

Then, dismissing the crowds, he went into the house. His disciples approached him and said, “Explain to us the para-ble of the weeds in the field.” He said in reply, “He who sows good seed is the Son of Man, the field is the world, the good seed the children of the kingdom. The weeds are the children of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the har-vesters are angels. Just as weeds are collected and burned up with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will collect out of his kingdom all who cause others to sin and all evildoers. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears ought to hear.”

I be-lieve in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the com-munion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

PRAYER OVER THE OFFERINGS O God, who in the one perfect sacrifice brought to comple-tion varied offerings of the law, accept, we pray, this sacri-fice from your faithful servants and make it holy, as you blessed the gifts of Abel, so that what each has offered to the honor of your majesty may benefit the salvation of all. Through Christ our Lord. COMMUNION ANTIPHON The Lord, the gracious, the merciful, has made a memorial of his wonders; he gives food to those who fear him. (Psalm 111) or Behold, I stand at the door and knock, says the Lord. If any-one hears my voice and opens the door to me, I will enter his house and dine with him, and he with me. (Rev 3:20)

Prayer for Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the

Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things

and I desire to receive You in my soul. Since I can-

not at this moment receive You sacramentally,

come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace

You as if you were already there and unite myself

wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated

from You. Amen.

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION Graciously be present to your people, O Lord, and lead those you have imbued with heavenly mysteries to pass from former ways to newness of life. Through Christ our Lord.
