This month we celebrated national Harmony Day on March 21st. It’s a time to celebrate cultural diversity in our society. Our Managing Director, Tim Johnson, in his role as chairman of Baptist Care, attended the SA Harmony Day celebrations here in Adelaide.
National Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. Here at Rapid Global we have a very culturally diverse team with employees representing well over 20+ different cultural backgrounds, with many staff being either first generation Australians or migrants. PRODUCT UPDATESRAPID PERMIT TO WORK Rapid Permit To Work is grabbing the attention of many of our customers. Did you know that the Rapid Permit To Work system dovetails nicely with the Rapid Access System terminals, providing a seamless site access and safety license system?
Rapid Permit to Work is the solution for the request, creation and issue of online permits such as confined space, hot work and working at heights. Any permit that is required to be issued can be included in the access terminal, ensuring all permit records are consolidated and centrally stored along with other essential information such as safe work method statements or job safety and environmental analysis forms.
The contractor selects the work order related to the task and requests any permits as required. Once a permit has been submitted through the system, a notification is sent to the administrator/site manager to approve the license/permit. Once approved the contractor can access the worksite and complete the job. When the job is completed the permit to work forms are closed and any issues/hazards can be reported.

Large scale event management organisation employs safety technology.The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) is a member based organisation that promotes and celebrates agriculture through events which link industry and consumers.
The Royal Melbourne Show, Victoria’s largest annual community event attracts 500,000 visitors on average each year. This along with other events run by RASV provides a platform for industry, promotion and education. RASV is Melbourne’s largest versatile indoor/outdoor exhibition and event venue providing a platform for trade shows, film production, concerts and other events.
THE CHALLENGERASV’s key objective was to control the risks related to events, mainly the Royal Melbourne Show, where RASV is not the principle contractor. The annual Royal Melbourne Show required a solution to assist in the compliance management of contractors, showground entertainment operators and volunteers. The challenge was to ensure 3 main areas of risk were addressed: induction (ensuring training was completed prior to work on site), contractor management and incident reporting/management.

THE SOLUTIONRapid Induct, Rapid Contractor Management and Rapid Incident Reporting software systems were implemented to reduce risk and aid in contractor and incident management compliance.
Online induction through Rapid Induct was set up to provide contractors, for all events where the RASV is the principle contractor, to complete inductions in a streamlined and efficient manner.
Rapid Contractor Management has been instituted as the process through which all contractor compliance documentation and pre-qualification is collected and managed.
Rapid Incident Reporting software now provides a solid and consistent method of reporting workplace incidents with incidents able to be reported online instantly and investigations assigned and tracked by management.
THE RESULTSThrough the implementation of the three Rapid Global products, RASV can now deliver job role specific inductions to all stakeholders including exhibitors, judges, officials, volunteers and show ground operators.

3300 incidents reported, investigated and actioned during the 11 days of the Royal Melbourne Show!In particular, the Rapid Incident Reporting software has transformed the incident reporting process especially in relation to the major event, The Royal Melbourne Show. During the 2014 Royal Melbourne Show more than 1700 incidents were reported over 12 days. In 2015 the scope of incident reporting was refined further and resulted in a more comprehensive collection of data resulting in more than 3300 incidents reported, investigated and actioned over 11 days.

Meet Elena Ruggiero, a valued member of our Client Services support team. Elena loves baking, travelling the world and “glamping” with her tent fitted out with a coffee machine for that essential morning brew! Having previously worked in superannuation administration, Elena Ruggiero joined Rapid Global almost two years ago. Elena is quick to learn new systems and is a natural leader, skills which have led her to recently be appointed as Rapid Global’s Client Services Phone Support Team Leader.Elena loves working with all the fantastic staff here at Rapid Global and finds that assisting the not so computer savvy contractors is the most rewarding part of her job!
Elena always has a smile on her face and her bubbly personality keeps her team motivated. Travelling extensively in recent years, having caught the travel bug, Elena is off again this September with her husband
