More importantly, Kofax Analytics delivers targeted interactive views into system performance, accuracy and productivity to better enable administrators to report on the effectiveness of their capture/workfl ow solution and improve overall system

Kofax Capture – the industry client-server document capture system – collects documents, forms and

electronic content and converts them into accurate, retrievable information, and delivers them into a variety of

back-end systems, business processes and applications. It is a scalable, highly available system that provides

real-time management of system performance, enabling clients to handle exceptions quickly and meet document

and data extraction throughput requirements.

Kofax Capture (Enterprise Edition)

Enhance and Deliver Kofax Capture easily extends information capture throughout the enterprise by taking advantage of Terminal Services and Citrix® server technology, providing remote, on-demand access to Kofax Capture modules, and enabling the processing of more documents in less time via multiple-instance support (OCR, PDF Generation and Export Connect Agents).

The Kofax Capture Network Server (KCNS) module provided

natively with Kofax Capture is a proven, reliable method for accelerating and reducing the cost of remote business processes. Included with Kofax Capture, the network server allows you to capture documents and data from remote wide area low bandwidth connected offices directly into your Kofax Capture system.

Product Acronyms: KC – Kofax Capture (formerly Ascent Capture®) is a back office enterprise content ingestion and delivery platform using robust client-server architecture.

KCNS – Kofax Capture Network Server (formerly ACIS) enables remote operations in conjunction with Kofax Capture.

KCEC – Kofax Capture Export Connector is a tool used to export data and images to ECM/BPM systems, enterprise applications, databases, etc. See Kofax website for a listing of COTS export agents.

EBC – Enhanced Barcode Recognition is a tool used to recognize 2-D and color barcodes.

Kofax Transformation Modules (KTM) is a suite of add-on advanced document recognition (classifi cation, data extraction) applications for Kofax Capture that is used to transform documents into structured electronic

information, ready for delivery into back-end systems, business processes and applications. It replaces manual,

error-prone and expensive document sorting and data entry processes with automatic document classifi cation,

separation and OCR data extraction.

Kofax Transformation Modules

Instant Recognition The intelligent document recognition technologies leveraged by KTM will classify, separate and extract any document regardless of type, content, format or language. These technologies include learn-by-example, on the fl y, making them easier to confi gure and cheaper to maintain than template and rules-based approaches.

KTM provides industry-leading knowledgebase options to process mailrooms, mortgages, CMS-1500 and UB-04 medical

claims, accounts payable invoices and other high-valued time-sensitive documents.

KTM Thin Client option provides access to document editing and correcting facilities over the Internet simply using a Web browser, allowing distributed workforces to be utilized for all documents and processes. No local software is installed, so deployment and support costs are low. Rapid deployment is possible using a thin client: just provide a specifi c URL and login to the correct people and they can start processing batches immediately.

Product Acronyms:KTM – Kofax Transformation Modules is a business process automation technology that provides intelligent Separation, Classifi cation and Extraction of information. KTM extends document recognition services building on industry-leading services pioneered by Mohomine and INDICIUS.

KSMS – Kofax Search and Matching Server provides support for matching and validation of extracted data against databases containing millions of records using a dedicated server.

Kofax Transformation Toolkit (KTT) is a software development kit (SDK) comprised of Web Services, controls and sample applications that enable the transformation of electronic information. It can be

tightly integrated into back-end systems, business processes, applications and databases.

Automate Extraction Like KTM, the KTT can be leveraged to replace manual, error-prone and expensive document sorting and data entry processes with automatic

document classifi cation, separation and data extraction. It operates independently and is not coupled with Kofax Capture.

will classify, separate and extract any document regardless of type, content, format or language. In fact, KTT leverages the assets created for KTM, allowing a single common confi guration.

Kofax VirtualReScan™ (VRS) is the ultimate scanner and digital image automated content analysis/ productivity tool because it reduces the costs processing digital images and improves the performance of the

overall capture system.

Maximize Productivity The technology works with the capture source (scanner, email, fax, file import) to maximize scanning productivity and optimize image quality (crop, descrew, normalize, improve

image clarity) improving the rest of the capture process. It also can reduce document preparation by automatically handling page orientation, deleting blank pages and managing mixed batches of

color and black and white documents with no pre-sorting.

Product Acronym: VRS – Virtual ReScan is Kofax’s image perfection technology.

Kofax Monitor™ provides real-time performance monitoring and metrics on the operational health of the Kofax Capture system. It examines both the system components and the real-time business service

viability, and provides real-time access to operational information. Kofax Monitor oversees Capture operational

throughput such as module volume, batch volume, batch processing time (end-to-end, by module and by remote

site), station license usage and successful synchronization of remote sites.

Kofax Monitor™ (optional)

Track in Real-Time The graphical dashboard provides both technical and non-technical personnel a picture of the Kofax system health.

Kofax Monitor can output information to SNMP-compatible systems management tools such as HP Business Technology Optimization (BTO, formerly OpenView), so that users can benefit from a unified view of their systems.

Product Acronym: KM – Kofax Monitor provides real-time performance monitoring and metrics on the operational health of the KC system.

As organizations move away from paper scanning, having a centralized method to capture electronic content is required. Kofax Import Connector (KIC) is designed to automatically monitor a range of data and

document import sources. KIC receives electronic information and corresponding data, emails and faxes, and

converts all relevant content (including the body of the email message and all attachments) into consistent TIFF

images or PDF files. It then delivers the content to Kofax Capture and Kofax Transformation Modules for automated

capture and enablement of business processes.

Kofax Import Connector

Speed and Consistency This enables smooth and efficient processing of information from a variety of sources, including FTP, multi-function printers (MFPs), high speed scanners, fax devices, email servers, Web Services interaction, etc. Product is licensed by file import type.

Product Acronyms: KIC Folder – Kofax Import Connector – File Interface (folder)

imports electronic information from network file shares into Kofax Capture.

KIC Email – Kofax Import Connector – Email Integration imports electronic information from Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes email inboxes into Kofax Capture.

KCS, FAXCOM®, and OpenText RightFax™ fax servers into Kofax Capture.

KIC FOIP – Kofax Import Connector – FOIP Integration imports electronic information from FOIP into Kofax Capture.

KIC WS – Kofax Import Connector – Web Service Interface imports electronic information from applications using Web Services into Kofax Capture.

Kofax Front-Office Server™ (KFS) enables remote customer-facing employees to trigger back office

business processes directly from familiar, front office equipment such as MFPs, digital copiers and desktop

scanners via WEB scanner interface.

Kofax Front-Office Server™

Ease-of-Use Off Site Employees start processes with a few clicks at the MFP (or similar equipment). This increased responsiveness and front office

contact combine to produce superior customer service and reduce operational costs. KFS is tightly integrated with Kofax Capture.

Product Acronym: KFS – Kofax Front Office Server is a distributed capture solution for transactional Capture at remote sites or via MFPs.

Kofax leverages mobile devices to capture, cleanse, extract and validate the information that drives today’s business. With this powerful capability, organizations can quickly and easily add real-time, interactive

information capture and process management capabilities to their mobile apps in order to “meet customers

where they are”, communicate on the devices they prefer and provide better service for a competitive advantage.

Kofax Mobile Capture™

Mobile Workflow The Kofax Mobile Capture™ (KMC) extends Capture Enabled BPM capabilities to smartphones and tablet computers. It enables customers to use cameras in those devices to capture images of documents, photographs and data, and then pass that content to Kofax workflows that manage it into enterprise applications and repositories. Capturing this information at the Point of Origination, from virtually anywhere, and delivering it to enterprise applications accelerates processes, minimizes latency, speeds transactions and reduces processing costs for better customer service. KMC is

compatible with Kofax Capture and TotalAgility enabling mobile capture via centralized workflow management. Software updates to Kofax Mobile Capture are included in Kofax software assurance.

RTTI – Real Time Transformation Interface is a Web Services-based communication mechanism that connects KMC with Kofax’s transformation capabilities to provide rapid return of extracted information.
