Grounding instructions

A 115-volt (103.5 min., 126.5 max.),60-Hz, AC-only, 15- or 20-ampere fusedand properly grounded electricalsupply is required. A time-delay fuse ortime-delay circuit breaker isrecommended. Use a separate circuit toconnect only the dehumidifier.

For your personal safety, thisdehumidifier must be grounded. Thisdehumidifier is equipped with a powersupply cord having a 3 prong groundplug.

To minimize possible shock hazard, thecord must be plugged into a mating 3 prong ground-type outlet, groundedin accordance with local codes andordinances. If a mating outlet is notavailable, it is the personalresponsibility and obligation of thecustomer to have the properlygrounded outlet installed by a qualifiedelectrician.

Install dehumidifier on a level floorstrong enough to support thedehumidifier with a full bucket of water.

Install your dehumidifier in an areawhere the temperature will not fallbelow the minimum operatingtemperature for your control type.Lower temperatures will cause yourperformance to drop.

Good air circulation is neededfor best performance - allowat least 12-18 in. (30.5 - 45.7 cm) of air space on allsides of the dehumidifier.

Keep all outside doors,windows and otheropenings closed whenoperating dehumidifier.Humid outdoor air willincrease dehumidifierworkload.

Setting the ControlsNOTE: Before turning dehumidifier on,be sure that:• Bucket is properly inserted into

dehumidifier• Bucket is empty

To turn dehumidifier on Turn DRYNESS CONTROL clockwise. If theEmpty/Adjust Bucket light comes on, thedehumidifier will not operate. Empty oradjust bucket.

To turn dehumidifier offTurn DRYNESS CONTROLcounterclockwise to OFF.

Empty/Adjust bucket lightIf this light is on, the dehumidifier is notrunning.This light indicates that youneed to check:• If the bucket is full, empty bucket and

replace.• If the bucket is not in position, remove

bucket and replace. Make sure thebucket fits all the way into thedehumidifier and the light is off, ordehumidifier will not run.

Fan speed (Control B models only) This controls fan operation. Use desiredsetting.HIGH - for faster moisture removal.LOW - for slower moisture removal.

Dryness controlThis controls the amount of moisture inthe room.Turn control knob clockwisefor more drying.Turn control knobcounterclockwise for less drying.Turncontrol knob to “NORMAL” to maintainaverage humidity conditions.

NOTE: For the first few days of use, turnthe DRYNESS CONTROL clockwise to“DRYEST” to remove extra moisture fromthe furnishings as well as the room air.

response time to reach the humidity setpoint, but at a lower sound level.

If you have selected LOW or HIGH:Press or to set the amount ofmoisture you want removed. Pressing

increases the amount of moistureremoved; pressing decreases theamount of moisture removed.Theindicator light will change according tothe number of times you press or .If you have selected CONTINUOUS:You cannot select the amount ofmoisture you want removed. InContinuous mode, the dehumidifier willrun continuously regardless of thehumidity level.The dehumidifier will shut off only if thebucket is full or removed.NOTE: The Deicer will turn thecompressor off if a low temperaturecondition exists. Pressing or willnot increase or decrease the amount ofmoisture removed.If you have selected AUTO DRY:Press or to set the amount ofmoisture you want removed. AUTO DRYprovides the best humidity control of allthe modes by automatically adjustingthe fan speed and/or turning thedehumidifier on and off to maintain yoursettings.

1. Use both side handles to lift bucket.Pull bucket forward and remove.

2. Carry bucket to a large sink or tub.

3. Pour water through opening into asink or tub.

4. Replace bucket completely andcheck that EMPTY/ADJUST BUCKETlight is off.

3. Attach a garden hose to drain hoseconnector. The garden hose shouldnot be longer than 8 ft (2.4 m). Runother end of garden hose into a floordrain. Check that the hose lies flatand in the drain.

To use the bucket without the garden hose:

Use a garden hose cap to seal the drainhose connector.

1. If your dehumidifier does not have adrain hose connector cover, go toStep 2.

If your dehumidifier has a drain hoseconnector cover, use a flat-bladescrewdriver to remove cover fromdrain connector. Turn covercounterclockwise. Discard cover. Itcannot be reused. Go to Step 2.

2. Drill out only the center of the drainhose connector. Use a minimum 1⁄4 in. drill bit.

Water Level Float & AutomaticShutoffAll dehumidifiers have automatic shutoffand a water level float. All dehumidifiersfeature an adjustable Water Level Float.The bucket must be properly aligned forthe Water Level Float to work.

Water Level Float Adjustment:

You can set the adjustable Water LevelFloat at the “high” or “low” position. Bothsettings will turn off the dehumidifierautomatically.To adjust water level, pushfloat left or right until it snaps into place.

“High” setting: Water Level Float ispreset to the “high” position - left sideof opening. The dehumidifier will shutoff automatically when bucket is 3⁄4 full.

“Low” setting: Slide Water Level Float to“low” position - right side of opening -to make the bucket lighter to carry. Thedehumidifier will shut off automaticallywhen bucket is 1⁄2 full.

General cleaning andmaintenance1. Dust the front grille and side panels

with a soft brush or the dustingattachment of your vacuum.

2. If cabinet paint chips, you can touchup the paint with a good gradeenamel paint to prevent rust.

3. Have an authorized servicer clean andservice the interior coils of yourproduct annually.

Instrucciones de conexión a tierra:

Se requiere una alimentación eléctricade 115 volt. (103,5 mín., 126,5 máx.),60 HZ, sólo CA, de 15 ó 20 amperes, confusibles y debidamente conectada atierra. Se recomienda emplear unfusible de retardo o interruptor decircuito retardador. Use un circuitoseparado sólo para el deshumidificador.

Para su seguridad personal, estedeshumidificador debe estar conectadoa tierra. Este deshumidificador estáequipado con un cable de alimentacióncon un enchufe tripolar con conexión atierra.

Para reducir al mínimo el peligro de unadescarga eléctrica, el cable debeenchufarse en un contacto de paredcon tres terminales, del mismo tipo,conectado a tierra de acuerdo contodos los reglamentos y normas locales.Si no se dispone de un contacto depared del mismo tipo, esresponsabilidad personal y obligacióndel cliente hacer que un electricistacalificado instale un contacto de pareddel mismo tipo, conectado a tierracorrectamente.

Si usted ha seleccionadoCONTINUOUS:Usted no puede seleccionar el nivelde humedad que desea quitar. En elmodo continuo, el deshumidificadorfuncionará continuamente sinconsiderar el nivel de humedad. Eldeshumidificador se apagarásolamente si el balde está lleno o sequitó.

NOTA: El deshelador apagará elcompresor si existe un estado de bajatemperatura.

Oprimir o no aumentará nibajará la cantidad de humedadeliminada.

Si usted ha seleccionado AUTODRY:Oprima o para fijar la cantidadde humedad que usted deseaeliminar. AUTO DRY (Secadoautomático) provee el mejor controlde humedad de todos los modos alajustar automáticamente la velocidaddel ventilador y/o encender y apagarla unidad para mantener sus ajustes.

Cómo sacar y vaciar el baldede agua:

1. Levante el balde utilizando las dosagarraderas laterales. Tire del baldehacia usted, para sacarlo.

2. Lleve al balde a un sumidero o tinagrande.

3. Vierta agua por el orificio en unsumidero o tina.

4. Vuelva a colocar el balde comple-tamente y verifique que la luz deEmpty/Adjust Bucket (Vacíe/Ajuste elbalde) esté apagada.

1. Si su deshumidificador no tiene unatapa del conector de la manguera dedesagüe, vaya al paso 2.

Si su deshumidificador tiene una tapadel conector de la manguera dedesagüe, use un destornillador de hojaplana para quitar la tapa del conectorde desagüe. Gire la tapa en el sentidocontrario al de las manecillas del reloj.Deseche la tapa. No puede usarse denuevo.Vaya al paso 2.

2. Perfore únicamente el centro delconector de la manguera de desagüe.Use una broca de 1⁄4 pulg. comomínimo.

3. Coloque una manguera de patio enel conector de la manguera dedesagüe. La manguera de jardín nodebe tener una longitud mayor de 8 pies (2,4 m). Haga pasar el otroextremo de la manguera de patio porun desagüe de piso. Verifique que lamanguera esté plana y en el desagüe.

No dañe el exteriorpara que la conexión no tengafugas.

Para usar el balde sin la manguera de jardín:Use un casquete de manguera de jardínpara sellar el conector de la manguerade desagüe.

Todos losdeshumidificadores tienen un Flotadorde Nivel del Agua ajustable. El baldetiene que estar debidamente alineadopara que funcione el Flotador de Niveldel Agua.

Ajuste del flotador de Nivel delAgua:

Usted puede poner el Flotador de Niveldel Agua en las posiciones “alta” o “baja”.Ambas posiciones apagaránautomáticamente el deshumidificador.Para ajustar el nivel de agua, empuje elflotador hacia la derecha o la izquierdahasta que encaje en su lugar.

paneles laterales con un cepillo suaveo con la boquilla para quitar el polvode su aspiradora.

La posición “Alta”: el Flotador de Nivel delAgua está preseleccionado en laposición de “alta”, al lado izquierdo de laabertura. El deshumidificador se apagaráautomáticamente cuando el balde esté3⁄4 lleno.

La posición “Baja”: deslice el Flotador deNivel del Agua a la posición de “baja”, allado derecho de la abertura, para que elbalde esté más liviano paratransportarlo. El deshumidificador seapagará automáticamente cuando elbalde esté 1⁄2 lleno.
