    Audit Training Session in Barcelona

    International Meeting of Ecovis Auditors24th 27th November, 2010in Barcelona, SpainTrainer: Marc Lodder, Netherlands, and Martin Jones, UK

    Participants: 15 auditors from 8 countries

    Report on the event Following the success of the first event of this nature last year in Prague, the participasession met in November, 2010, in Barcelona. For three days they dealt with key profethe Ecovis audit approach and with matters concerning communication and organisatitraining session, which was held in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, was led by Mand Martin Jones, UK.

    At the start of the event, which was held in Hotel Santa Marta, Ingrid Westphal welcombehalf of the board of Ecovis International, particularly emphasising the importance ofthe further development of our network. The next speaker was Martin Jones, who gavthe work flow adopted for Ecovis audit approach, after which Marc Lodder addressedday: analysis and evaluation of business cycles and the definition of internal controls.he passed the baton on to the participants. In groups of five they were required to selethe revenue-generating process that most effectively and efficiently minimize the risksseries of business events the controls identified were tested whether the controls selplaced within the business process. Later each of the teams presented their results anthe other participants.

    On the following two days, the teams dealt with questions of team organisation, planniteam communication. Here too the participants were expected to participate interactivsituations demanding role play.

    It was, of course, not all work. There were plenty of opportunities to exchange opinionrelaxed atmosphere, be it over a cup of coffee on the terrace of the hotel, which was loBarcelona, or during the excellent lunches, or whilst strolling along the beach during thtoo, opportunities were taken to strengthen acquaintances outside the venue itself. Thtogether in a Spanish restaurant; here the highlight was definitely the huge fish servedwho could still summon up enough energy were invited to an evening stroll through thTosca. The second evening started with a sightseeing bus tour through Barcelona andBarcelonas old town.

    We are grateful for the perfect and interesting organisation of the training session both

    co-ordinated the travel arrangements of our colleagues with great enthusiasm, and, of

    colleagues in Barcelona, who have certainly set high standards with their planning of tsocial programme.
