“The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows" -said Sydney J. Harris. In our country, there are lakhs of young minds yearning to transform their mirrors of imagination into windows of reality. Unfortunately there exists an inability in our country for many to attain even basic education due to poverty. Right to Education is an effort by the Government to free people of this inability and enable them to attain basic education so that they can get sufficient knowledge to serve the society.
Over the years, the demand for children's education has grown by leaps and
bounds. Everybody from the poorest of the poor to the well off, acknowledges the value of
education in the overall development of a child. Basically, the objective of education is
threefold i.e. physical, mental and spiritual and we at Goldcrest High do fulfill these
objectives.
Education is a fundamental human right, without which capabilities for a decent life
and effective participation in society are less likely to be developed. Since the RTE Act has
provided us the tools to provide quality education to all children, it is now imperative that
we, the people of India, join hands to ensure the implementation of this law in its true spirit
as, quoting Nelson Mandela - “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use
to change the world”.

The GHV – GHL collaboration is a great step forward to forge links and create deeper understanding of the
Goldcrest philosophy and vision that we share. An exchange programme between GHV and GHL is an initiative taken to
make the students understand each other's culture. The students who visited GHL under the exchange programme
returned with loads of memories. They attended the school with their buddies from Latur and spent quality time. On the
first day after school, they went for a tour of Latur and visited a temple with the host families. The second day was full of
surprises and adventure as the students were taken to a beautiful farm. They enjoyed the bullock cart ride and played on
the swings especially made for them. They also had a pizza party with the host families later that day. The last day
teachers of GHL took GHV students for a nature walk to get close to nature. They returned with a heavy heart and lots of
cherishable memories. It was a lifetime experience for the students.

A quiz is a form of or in which the players attempt to answer questions correctly. It is also a brief game mind sportassessment used in education and similar fields to measure growth in knowledge, abilities, and skills. It produces better organization of knowledge by helping the brain organize material in clusters to allow better retrieval. It also helps transfer and application of knowledge. A quiz competition based on 'Incredible India' was organised with the same objective. The students of Grades 5 to 10 participated in the quiz competition. The Quiz Mistress Mrs. Seema Achan, a Senior IT Professional conducted the competition well and later appreciated the organisation of the event and efforts put in by the school.

It is observed that PCOS (Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome) is found commonly in the young girls. To make our girls students aware of PCOS, a workshop was arranged (date already mentioned on top) by Fortis Hospital. Girls of Grade 8 to 10 with their mothers attended the workshop. Senior Gynaecologist - Mrs. Bandita Sinha spoke about how the Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome affects the health of girls and the precautions one should take to avoid the disease. “There is no teacher equal to mother and there's nothing more contagious than the dignity of a father.” All our tiny tots from Grade 1 to 4 were very happy as their dads were coming to school to make an Eco Friendly Ganesh Idol with them.
