PPA’s Organisational Profile
• A Western Australian Government Trading Enterprise operating under the Port Authorities Act of 1999
• Established on 01 July 2014 with the amalgamation of Dampier Port Authority and Port Hedland Port Authority
• Currently encompasses;
– Port of Ashburton
– Port of Dampier
– Port of Port Hedland
PPA’s Organisational Profile
• Two of the worlds largest bulk export ports
• Responsible for 75% of the States and 45% of
the worlds seaborne iron ore exports
• Record annual throughput of 620 million
tonnes, with 24,980 vessel movements
• State Royalties totalled approximately $4.3
billion and PPA paid dividends of $164.45
million to the State
