Henry Ford recognized the genius of Steinmetz and hired him to build the generators that would run Ford’s first automobile plant in Dearborn, Michigan. Steinmetz didn’t disappoint. One day, however, without warning, the generators ground to a stop. Ford hired several mechanics, but no one was able to find the problem with the generators. Ford finally pressed his friendship with Steinmetz and asked him to return and “do a little repair work.” Steinmetz did return. He fiddled around with this gauge, tinkered with that motor, tried a little wiring here, and a little wiring there. Within a matter of a couple of hours everything was fixed and the generators were again working. Within a few days, Steinmetz mailed Ford a bill for $10,000. Though more than wealthy, Ford balked at paying such an “exorbitant amount of money for what appeared to be such a simple task.” Henry Ford wrote the following note along with the bill: “Dear Charles: It seems awfully steep, this $10,000 for a man who for just a little while tinkered around with a few motors.” Steinmetz wrote a new bill and sent it back with the following note: “Dear Henry: For tinkering around with motors -- $10; for knowing where to tinker, $9,990.” Let me use the above to carry on Sunday’s sermon from 1 Peter 5:1-4.

New Bible School Class for Older Youth! We will begin a new Bible School class for our older youth (Jr. High/High School), September 20th. It is imperative that we instill the Truth in our youth before they are grown and off to college. In an effort to get this accomplished this new class will be a basic but significant class dealing with Biblical Truth. We will meet in the kitchen area at 9:30 AM each Sunday. Bring your Bibles and a

Looking Into a Church Van!

We are in the process of looking for a good 12 or 15 passenger van to use as our church van. The consensus of our men is to proceed with this project knowing of the good that will result. Many uses for a van were discussed and brought up: mission trips, youth outings, one-day trips for our older brethren, shuttle service when needed etc.. We also discussed the need to have a convenient “housing” to keep this van nice and road worthy. More about this will be forth coming but for now, keep your eyes and ears out for a good van!!!

Please Let Us Know!!

If you are unable to be physically present for worship on any given Sunday and you would like to receive the Lord’s Supper,

please get in touch with us and let us know this is your personal desire. Our men are more than willing to bring this to your home or to the hospital you may in at the time!

Keep Things in Perspective!

The task before us as a local church is overwhelming IF we fail to tap into God’s strength! May we ever proceed forward knowing our “failures” are not counted against our efforts. Let us learn from the past and strive for the future and may all the glory and honor be unto Christ alone!
