3/8/07: The first web page for the check in/out site has been created. Info

gathered from JAD session was used to design interface and some of the

functionality. At this point the web page is a mark up of information and thefunction of loading the data will be worked out after the overall design has been

finished. 4/3/07: Pooled fund project meeting on 3/24/07 in Nashville TN. NE, TN,

IO, WA and OR were all in attendance. California has joined the pooled fund.

7/9/07: ODOT has secured $30K per year for the next two years for the pooled

fund. 10/31/07: ODOT has recommended agreement points to Walla Walla County

on the Oregon boarder. Walla Walla has returned a revised set. Discrepancies

were noted between line work ODOT used to establish points and line work the

county used. Those are being looked into now. 2/19/08: The FME Workbench for

the pilot is complete. Data has been translated from source data and back using

the Workbench. 4/21/08: Pooled Fund (GISDC) annual mtg was on May 13-14 in

Olympia Wa.. Partners from all participating states were their to discuss findings,

goals, direction about the check in/out application. 8/25/08 WA_Trans Policy

    Advisory

Commitee mtg on 9/4. This will address technical issues that will guidethe tools and design for the load/extract/change detection software.

2/19/08: U of O is working on the QAQC phase of data validation. A snap shot

dataset will be created as part of this process for interim needs and agreementpoints will be established for coordination with the local Road Authorities for thelong term integration goal. 3/6/08: U of O is compiling statistics of issues for eachroad authority (RA) and will begin work on the QAQC using the GeoMedia platformper ODOTs request. Will meet withOEM and GeoSolve to discuss incorporating data requirements for ODOT's

certified mileage reporting in OR-Trans process via local RA data. 4/21/08: UofOhas had personnel changes and lost their project manager so they have recruitedfor a new project manager. A few weeks worth of work was lost with the transitionbut UofO has committed to trying to meet the previous deadlines. OR-Trans hasreceived a 2008/09 grant for $50k from USGS for continued work on QAQC and

distribution of OR-Trans to the National Map effort.7-2008 Work is nearly complete

developing a routing network, specification gathering for GIS routing software is

underway with completion scheduled for Aug. 1. 8/25/08 OEM

contract w/ counties at DOJ for review. OEM placed a hold on data

distribution to OR-Trans until new contract is signed. Crash data for

Wasco Pilot has been extracted and geocoded to OR-Trans data.

Mid Sept. mtg is planned to demonstrate data to Wasco Co. Marion/LinnCo. pilot to resolve agreement points was scheduled for August but has

been pushed back because of loss of resources (Loren Mueller). Chad N

has taken over some tasks that Loren had but he also has GIS technical

support functions for ODOT that take his time.

8/31/08: Regions 3 and 5 NAS servers are full. The Salem server has more

storage space and is reaching capacity. Region 5 now has a fiber connection

so data sccess shold be much faster. We are investigating if perhaps the new

connection is fast enough in combination with SDE to scale down the Region

5 NAS. Options for Region 3 are still being explore.

1/03/07: No resources at this time. 3/8/07: Sponsor ready to initialize TransGIS

they still had interest in moving forward with this project. They have several

other related initatives in the queue at this time.

8/25/08: Deschutes County model: being updated in VISUM. Incorporating

Prineville into model. Finalizing base year. Deschutes County HERS-ST:

Process beginning to tie the VISUM model to HERS-ST (Highway Economic

Requirements System-State Version). Brookings model: being updated in

VISUM. Work progressing. Woodburn model: being updated in VISUM. Work

progressing. SWIM2: The statewide model team is working to meet a

November 1 deadline for beta version that will be used for analysis. The

project is in the middle of the final tasks needed to meet this date. Several

minor calibration tasks are being completed. Changes to file structure anddata storage on the SDC cluster are being tested. A few changes are needed

to the model GUI. During the testing phase several errors were identified and

are being corrected. OHAS: the pilot test locations have been identified-

Grants Pass, Eugene, and Gresham. The pilot will test the survey instrument

questions, recruitment methods random phone call, mailings, phone lists,

etc) , non-reponse issues, sampling, etc. The information gleaned from the

pilot will affect the design of the actual survey scheduled for ODOT

Region 2 this fall. GreenSTEP passed a major milestone August 14th

when i was peer reviewed. The consensus ws the model is robust and well

designed. Significant amount of work must be done on the input side, but

the bulk of the model is complete. The model overview was also

presented to the Oregon Global Warming Commission August 19, 2008

and received favorably. GreenSTEP is getting more and more attention

across agencies. The potential of this tool to be expanded and connected

across agencies and other analytical tools is increasing. The may become

more relevant to ODOT GIS efforts in the future.
