The Summer Program offered by the College of Cross-Cultural and Multidisciplinary Studies at Kumamoto University was created to provide international students from partner universities who have an interest in studying abroad in Japan with a chance to experience life as an international student at Kumamoto University.

Welcome to Kumamoto University

✓ Undergraduate students who have completed at least one semester of college or university.

✓ English language proficiency equal to or greater than IELTS level 5 (English Course only)

✓ Japanese language proficiency equal to or greater than JLPT N3 (Japanese Course only).

✓ You are ineligible if you have previously attended a summer or spring program at Kumamoto University

Eligibility

Participation Fee: 100,000 Japanese Yen○ includes accommodation, class fees, field trip fees, and breakfast.× Does not include the cost of transportation to or from Japan, the cost of transportation within Japan, the cost of most meals (other than breakfast) during the program, or bank transfer fees.＊Program fees do not cover travelers insurance for participants. Students must purchase their own travelers insurance before arriving in Japan.

How to pay: Participation fee must be payed in advance via bank transfer by June 8, 2018. Details will be announced after participant selection.

Students from the following countries who have a GPA of 2.3 or more (based on the JASSO GPA scale) may be eligible to receive a scholarship worth 80,000 Yen:Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Nepal, Cambodia

＊Please note that the number of scholarships available is limited. Scholarships will be awarded based on the recommendation of your home university.

Applications are to be submitted to your university’s international office. Direct applications to Kumamoto University are not accepted.

Application Deadline: May 11, 2018

Selection

Participation in this program is limited to 45 students for each course. If the number of applicants exceeds 45, a selection will be held based on the recommendation of your home university, and the results will be announced to the international office of your university on May 18, 2018.

If you decided to withdraw from the program after selection, please inform us by June 1, 2018. (E-mail: coe@jimu.kumamoto-u.ac.jp).

Warm greetings form Chang Jung Christian University, Taiwan!

We are pleased to announce thatthe registration is now opened for "2018 Global

Summer Camp", being held from August 21-25, 2018. This Summer Camp is

organized by CJCU Office ofInternational Affairs and Language Education Center.

With the goalto expand the global vision,increase the understanding of other cultures,

and foster an even closertie among the participants, Chang Jung Christian University

would like to invite the students of our partner schools to participate in this 2018

Global Summer Camp

The themes of Global Summer Camp include cultural exchange, Taiwan art &

aboriginal culture,innovation & workshop,local business file trips and more. English

will be the language of communication atthe camp. Participants will go on field trips,

attend seminars, and have hands-on practices. Each participant will experience the

diversity and warmth of Taiwanese culture and experience the diversity. The room and

board and the cost of camp are free of charge. However,there are 30 spaces available

for students of our partner schools, with a maximum ofthree participants from each

university.

Please referto the attached schedule and posterforthe content ofthe camp. "2018

Global Summer Camp" at CJCU is where to discoverto other cultures and make new

friends. We hope to have the pleasure of your company this August!

Applicants should be open-minded, fluent in English, love to share and work with team members from other nations.

Applicants are obligated to host the game of Boot Camp and help design intercultural tasks/courses for group members in the game. The detail will be informed when the registration is completed.
