Gavial

• IT IS One of the most rare and bizarre crocodiles in the world. Because of the rapid decline places,which suitable for habitat of Gavials, destruction of fisheries and predation gavials, by 1970, they were considered nearly extinct. But in India, programs have been developed for the collection of eggs and rearing crocodiles in captivity, which has helped to increase their numbers from 70 to 1500 individuals.
