NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING AWARENESS WEEK - JULY 19-25 GO GREEN! GO ALL NATURAL! Many Catholics are unaware of the benefits of Natural Family Planning. One of the most significant benefits for those who practice Natural Family Planning is that the divorce rate changes from around 50% to less than 4%. That alone should make you want to learn more about NFP. I have listed some of the benefits of NFP and I recommend the follow- ing websites to learn more on this great topic: www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/marriage-and-family/natural-family-planning/ awareness-week and www.sfcatholic.org/RespectLife Natural Family Planning (NFP) has these main elements and benefits: The only method of family planning in line with Church teachings - It’s God’s Divine Plan! Empowers husband and wife to know and understand each other’s body and the gift of their fertility. Helps to foster respect, trust, and cooperation between husband and wife. Helps to train a man to love a woman as Christ loves the Church, strengthening a couple’s spiritual bond with God and with each other. Enhances couple communication and intimacy, building healthy and loving mar- riages with less than a 4% divorce rate. Nurtures a deeper understanding and acceptance of children as blessings to be welcomed, treasured and loved beyond measure, building healthy and loving families. Periodic abstinence, while not always easy, provides periods of time to focus on other ways to love and care for each other. Abstinence can make the heart grow fonder. Up to 99% effective when used to avoid or delay the conception of a child, and has been highly successful in helping couples conceive when issues of infertility arise. No unwanted or harmful side effects. As green and natural as you can get, yet scientifically researched and tested. Inexpensive, with minimal and sometimes no ongoing costs after initial instruc- tion and supplies. Charting of fertility signs provides a valuable health record and diagnostic tool. ST PETER WINDOW AND DOOR PROJECT UPDATE The window and door project at St Peter will get started in the next couple of weeks. We have received just over $85,000 in dona- tions. We need approximately $110,000 to finish both projects without taking out a loan. The average cost per window is around $8,000. That seems like a lot, but if you go together with several family members it won’t seem like such a large amount. You can make a contribution in memory of your parents or grandparents. Families from the area, whether they live in Jefferson love to see the beautiful church. It takes a lot of contributions to keep the church beautiful and you can help. Please make your donation today to help preserve this beautiful church! God Bless!

WEEKLY PRAYER INTENTION For all who are in need of healing: that the Spirit of God will renew and restore the gift

of life within them, we pray to the Lord.

PARISHIONERS: I will be revising the prayer list for next week’s bulletin. If there is someone that you want left on the list, please call your parish office. Thank you for your cooperation, Jean

A Weekly Reflection…. We have a liberating mission: Although many people don’t be-

lieve in real demonic possession in our age, there are many de-mons which can control the lives of people around us making them helpless slaves. For example there are the demons of nico-tine, alcohol, gambling, pornography and promiscuous sex, mate-rialism and consumerism, or of any other activity which somehow can take control of people’s lives and become an addiction over which they have no control. All of these, or any one of them, can turn people into slaves. We need the help of Jesus to liberate us and others from these things. Jesus is inviting us today to cooper-ate with him. He wants us to be his instruments of liberation, to help others recover their freedom. We are meant to help people to cure their sicknesses - not only the bodily sicknesses but psycho-logical and emotional illnesses as well. As a family member, a friend, a colleague, an evangelizer, when we work with Jesus, we can truly have a healing influence.

Vocation Prayer Family:

July 13—July 19 : Noreen Gill-Scott; Louie & Valda DeSmet Next week: Dick & Peg Dailey; Tim & Tama Zeller Please call your parish office to be added or sign-up in entry of the church. Kits available to help with prayers.
