a home for all nations The truth that brokenness is attached to blessings and what gets blessed is used for the glory and purposes of God is an undeniable spiritual principle enshrined in the teachings of God’s Word. This teaching corresponds to Jesus’ teaching on the grain of wheat that must fall to the ground and die before it produces a harvest. It is essentially similar to the message of pruning that Jesus spoke about when He said, “...while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful” (John 15:2). Ultimately, Jesus Christ embodied this truth when He presented himself as the Passover Bread which was broken for the sake of a broken world. He said to His disciples, “Take, eat: this is my body which is broken for you.” I contend that this is one extraordinary principle that is so practically applicable. This remains as one of the most demonstrable truths to which countless number of saints through all ages can testify to. However, I have been a bit curious regarding the order of the process. Does God first bless and then break or is the reverse truer? Does the order in which this process works even matter? Is there a significant distinction or is this just another theological splitting of hair? Without sounding dogmatic, let me, by virtue of a general spiritual observation, proclaim that the order of the process is bless, break and multiply. When Jesus gave the bread to His disciples, He emphasized this divine order The power of God’s Word encapsulated in God’s eternal plans watches over every prescribed divine line of demarcation. a home for all nations The truth that brokenness is attached to blessings and what gets blessed is used for the glory and purposes of God is an undeniable spiritual principle enshrined in the teachings of God’s Word. He said to His disciples, “Take, eat: this is my body which is broken for you.”

I contend that this is one extraordinary principle that is so practically applicable. This remains as one of the most demonstrable truths to which countless number of saints through all ages can testify to. However, I

have been a bit curious regarding the order of the process. Does God first bless and then break or is the reverse truer? Does the order in which this process works even matter? Is

there a significant distinction or is this just another theological splitting of hair? Without sounding dogmatic, let me, by virtue of a general spiritual observation, proclaim that the order of the process is bless, break and multiply. when He first blessed the bread, then broke it and afterward He said, “Take.” Nonetheless, if there is a distinction, I believe that it has to do with the person’s attitude toward submission. When the bread, which represents any individual, is submitted to Him whole and with no preconditions, He breaks and uses it for His divine purposes. However I have come across many people who have rebelled against God and run away from His gentle call to repentance or service. In many such people, God’s Hand of heaviness first and foremost breaks the individual and then He blesses them to use them. This punitive dealing of God often causes great grief and pain. A wholesome surrender into His hands for whatever He chooses to do is a blessed state and this leads to greater glory.

But then, the question arises: why would Jesus break the bread in the first place when He could have multiplied it without even breaking? What purposes are accomplished by this process of breaking? The answer to such a deep cry is found in the realization that God’s greatness of what He does is found in the intricacy and fine print of His work. One can find great comfort in the knowledge that in all that God does, even when it does not make sense to the natural mind, there are much greater and grander purposes.

When whole bread is broken in tiny pieces, it loses its identity, which is linked to its shape, size, and form. Now it attains an identity that is connected to one thing and one thing only, namely “purpose”, which is simply to feed the hungry. I have seen in restaurants across Asia where the shop keeper places various kinds of bread in an artistic fashion within glass cases to allure hungry customers. The bread serves as an attraction and looks appealing within glass showcases. However, when bread is broken, it no longer is preserved for its shape, finesse or appeal but is quickly consumed by hungry people. BROKEN BREAD HAS ONLY ONE PURPOSE namely to be consumed. When Jesus Christ, the true Bread that came from heaven, was broken, the Scripture says that He was marred beyond recognition. He possessed no attractiveness in Him and was pitiable to look upon but in and through His brokenness He became the Bread that gave life, eternal and abundant. May God break our pride, our self, our agenda and everything that will prevent us from being used for His purposes.

Brokenness, as painful as it might be, needs to be seen through the eyes of the One who commands specific instructions over even the smallest details of this process. There are three encouraging truths that we need to derive from the sacred dealings of God with the saints in this fruitful program of His.

1. It is noted in the Talmud and strictly followed by the Jews that only the one who blesses the bread has the right to break it. May God’s grace cement our faith in this great truth that what God blesses He will not let any human or satanic force break. God remains the only faithful constant throughout the process.

2. Looking at the life of Jesus Christ Who became the ultimate representation of this truth, we can find solace in knowing that God has declared strict boundaries around this process. In the case of Jesus, with all the lacerations on His body, the scourging, piercings and even being nailed, it is such a marvel that not one bone of His body was broken. The ancient prophets of God had prophesied specifically that not one of His bones shall be broken. The bones did not crack even with a hair line fracture under such unbearable strain of torment. The power of God’s Word encapsulated in His eternal plans permeates over every prescribed divine demarcating line. God will not allow you to suffer beyond what His sovereign yet gentle counsel has predetermined.

3. The command of Jesus Christ to collect all the remaining crumbs so that not one tiny piece is lost signifies that our Heavenly Father cares for even the inconsequential aspects of our brokenness. The momentary hurt, the silent prayers, the teary yet never-giving-up expressions of faith, the outbursts of pent up emotions in solitude, all are seen by our Master and are precious in the final count.

Every part of this process must be seen comprehensively and not in isolation. Remember, it is linear from bless to break to multiply to preserve. Never forget that God always remains the only constant in this seemingly painful process.

THE NEW HOPE RESTORATION PROJECT

COMPANY NEWSLETTER 3

One of our advocates, Mariv-ic Arca, an active church leader and under the leader-ship of a local church (Pastor Dan and Gina Moquia) is pas-sionately involved in reach-ing out to the women in dif-ferent barangays (villages).

Although she lives 15 kilometers away from her outreach minis-tries, a women’s center has been erected that will primarily serve

as a place for their regular cell meeting as well as a place for their discipleship classes. The shel-ter will include a meeting area, a counseling/medical room, two washrooms and a kitchen. This community center will also serve as a medical clinic and counsel-ing center where women in need or in crisis can run.

For this particular project, we believe that if we minister to the

core of the family, the mother, we can bring the children to the sav-ing knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And even-tually, the father and husband, who may have lost his dignity and self-respect due to the dif-ficult economic circumstances surrounding him, may be drawn back to his family through liveli-hood initiatives that will help him provide for his family.

PALANOG WOMEN’S SHELTER

Good health is key to enjoying a full and productive life, yet many people have limited access and funds to quality medical services. Throughout the trip, we have conducted medical missions that have attracted hundreds of people in the five barangays we visited.

team experienced the fullness of God’s grace upon the mission work accomplished in the Philippines. Throughout the duration of the trip, the Holy Spirit gave sufficiency in everything that was achieved. Prior to leaving, a commissioning service conducted by Pastor Anison addressed the team on both the impartation of apostolic anointing and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We most definitely felt God’s leading as we strategically implemented ground breaking initiatives in various communities. We thank ZAMIE for blessing, sending and covering us with prayer.

The NHRP mission ministry results have arrived. We have received reports about specific families and individuals that have been involved in this ministry now being discipled and attending regular church services and bible study meetings in various barangays (villages). Also as mentioned below, a directive by the governor alongside the Philippine National Police and Military have started a joint venture of reaching the countryside through livelihood initiatives and medical missions. We pray that even now we will have the logistics necessary and the personnel needed to complete the task God has in store for us and the people of the Philippines.

FARMS & LIVELIHOOD PROJECTSThe landscape of Tacloban is lush and the soil rich therefore, we aim to provide livestock (i.e. goats, cows) that can multiply—literally, to faithful individuals. By producing milk or meat, as well as providing offspring for breeding or sale, these are valuable sources of food and income for families.

One other initiative that we have of fered is in the area of agriculture. By supplying seeds, seedlings and fer tilizer, we can help people transform the land on which they live into sustainable sources of food for their family and communities.

N AT I O N A L P O L I C E & M I L I TA R YThrough the guidance of the Holy Spirit an opening with the Philippines National Police has been established. High ranking directors were eager to get prayed over, first, in front of their subordinates and then they requested the team to pray for them privately after the gathering.

Through the suggestion of the base camp colonel, an outreach program to the surrounding communities is already being prepared for the next year’s upcoming missions trip. They will initiate this by helping provide the doctors, nurses and dentists needed to serve the impoverished and destitute.

PEDICABS (TRI-WHEELERS) The livelihood enterprises are intentional and specific in reaching families and providing the opportunities for them to give the basic needs of their children. Some of the projects will include giving Pedi cabs (tri-wheelers with a side car) to the men so they can earn a living by taking commuters to their designated locations.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY AND BASKETBALL MINISTRYThrough the support of businesses and various donors, local pastors will be able to serve their communi-ties through children’s programs, nutritious meals, and evangelistic activities. The outcome has demon-strated God’s love for His people and His care for their physical, emotional and spiritual welfare. A bas-ketball ministry has also been conducted in the evenings where sports enthusiasts came and gathered. Snacks were provided during the halftime break and after the tournament the gospel was preached.

PROVINCIAL GOVERNORThe provincial hall became a hub of spiritual activ-ity for the employees of the Governor. The team was generously given time to pray and minister to as many public servants as possible. The governor also encouraged us to bless him in his office and home.

PASTORS CONFERENCEPastors from remote villages came to Dipolog for our conference. We provided transistor radios that allowed them to connect to Christian stations through the local radio frequency. These were also pre-loaded with an audio translation of the Bible in their local dialect.

RESTORED HOMES & COMFORT ROOMSIn November 2013 a devastating typhoon struck the shores of the Visayas islands of the Philippines and devastated villages, buildings, homes and the lives of these beautiful people particularly in the city of Tacloban. The NHRP team has restored many homes.

Additionaly, many women bear the indignity of washing and taking a bath in creeks and pools of water. Therefore, the team has raised funds for the building of comfort rooms (washrooms) for various families.

One afternoon while walking along the river, I felt con-siderably disappointed because my life was not turning out the way I had expected it to. As my head was turned down, I kept noticing my shadow that was in front of me. It was as if I was constantly following my shadow but was never able to catch it. At that moment, I felt God speak-ing to my heart; “Midori, when your back is facing the sun (Son... God) and you walk in the opposite direction you will keep following and chasing your dreams but will never be able to catch them. Turn around and walk to-wards Me (sun). You may not be able to see your shadow (dream) but it is always following you.” Instantly, Psalm 23:6a came to my heart: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.

Later on, God taught me that when we align ourselves with the sun (God) so that God is exactly above us, we will no longer be able to see our shadow because the light has come into us.

John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Psalm 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

KIDZONE Faith’s Testimony - Age 8

My name is Faith and I am a grade three student. I know that my God is faithful and my healer. When I was five years old, I was diagnosed with leukemia. It was a difficult time and I experienced a lot. God healed me and brought me out of sickness. I’m thankful to God. He is faithful. Thank you to my church for praying for me.

Question: What do you say when you are busy and you are eating?

Answer: I have to get a few stuffs off my plate.
