Solutioning through Stanford's Design Thinking Process

Leadership essential and problem solving

Building Basics: Problem solving Skills for Young leadersIf we want Gen Z to thrive in their future, we need to help them become great communicators, creative collaborators, and give them the skills to solve ill-structured problems.

With that challenge in mind, there is a question - How do we prepare our students to be successfulleaders? By demonstrating the value of collaboration and harnessing their creativity, criticalthinking and problem solving skills.

The best way to teach our children to be creators, innovators and problem solvers who can adaptand pivot when necessary is by exposing them to real life problems and a scientific processes. Thishelps them build the essential skills that will equip them for any challenge as they practice these intheir learning environments.

Popularized by the Institute of Design at Stanford, and widely used to tackle problems forbusinesses, Design Thinking is a creative problem-solving process that focuses on understandingthe need of others, rapid testing and iterating, and bringing out your inner creative genius.

Leadership Activities and Games, Coaching & Mentoring

To become an effective leader, one needs to possess good communication, interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. A leader is someone who motivates and guides his teammembers, someone who leads and is popular. Nobody is a born leader; in fact, a person can learnhow to be a good leader by developing certain skills and practicing these right from his adolescentyears. Young people master these skills while playing games, engaging in social activities andexposure to real world scenarios.

Our explorer module has been designed to offer a safe environment to practice these ideas. Wehave lined up many games, roleplay and team activities. Our camp provides opportunities forstudents to interact on social and adventure trips and experience others’ leadership journeys. Weaim to provide students with the opportunity interact with young entrepreneurs in the Malaysianstart-up ecosystem and also be mentored by young leaders in the industry.
