He founded HALİT UZUN MAKİNA in Iskenderun in order to pass on his knowledge and expreriences to the investors and he began to manufacturing and installation works.

1963

HUM, signs the representative contract with LURGI GmbH / Germany , one of the leading companies worldwide in the edible oil technologies.

1994

HUM, assembled Turkey’s best modern technology CONTINUOUS SOLVENT EXTRACTION PLANT under the co-operation with Lurgi.

1996

HUM Workshop began to his facilities at Aegean Free Zone – Izmir . HUM moved his manufacturing plant to this new workshop.

2004

HUM Workshop, started to CE certificated process tanks and machineries manufacturing.

2005

HUM Workshop, manufactured Turkey’s biggest capacity extractors and sold to foreign country.

2008

HUM is assembling 2000 tpd capacity edible oil plant to the one of the biggest company of the world, with his own engineering and manufacturing.

2012

HUM Workshop started to 500 tpd capacity new design Flaker manufacturing and this flaker is working with a high efficiency.

2015

HALİT UZUN MAKİNA started to Oil Screw Press manufacturing.

1980

Mr. HALİT UZUN completed his first oilseeds crushing plant, which was designed by own.

1960

HALİT UZUN MAKİNA, as a founding partner completed and started up Cumhuriyet Edible Oil Plant and began to manufacturing of Edible

Refining Cotton Oil as a brand of “Cumhuriyet”.

1970

HUM MÜHENDİSLİK LTD. “HUM” have been founded in Istanbul, in order to serve to edible oil market by bringing the world’s best technologies together.

1992

HALİT UZUN MAKİNA started to high capacity Oil Screw Press manufacturing.

1995

HUM, signs the representative contract with LFC LOCHEM / Holland , the biggest

manufacturing company of the filtration systems; with KÖRTING / Germany in

vacuum systems; with THT-THERMTECHNIK / Germany in industrial heaters.

1997

HUM, starts manufacturing of CRUSHER and FLAKER machines according to the license contract made with DAMMAN-CROES / Belgium, one of the leading companies of the World in preparation processes.

1999

HUM Workshop, get ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System certificate.

2005

HUM, assembled and started up Turkey’s biggest capacity and budget 800 tons/day capacity edible oil plant in turn-key basis.

2006

HUM Workshop started to 600 tpd capacity Edible Oil Press manufacturing and sold to the world’s well-known companies.

2011HUM Workshop started to 300 tpd capacity Oil Screw Press manufacturing and this press is working with a high efficiency over the World acceptable standarts.

2010

HUM Engineering, get ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System certificate.

2012

HUM Workshop gets the new version of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certificate.

2018

HistoryIn 1955-60, the founder of our company; Mr. Halit UZUN worked in the establishment of “Ceyhan Oil and Margarine Factory” and later served as Operations Manager.

HUM Silos and Conveying

It is a sequence of several of the following processes:

• HUM Dehulling, to increase the protein content

of the de-oiled meal

• HUM Vertical Seed Conditioner (HVSC), to heat

and dry the seed slowly and efficiently, serving

it to be conditioned properly for further

processing.

• HUM Cracking, to reduce the particle size of the

seeds

• HUM Flaking, to rupture the cell structure of the

broken seeds

• HUM Cooking, to reduce the viscosity of the oil

and adjust the moisture content

After a good preparation, the seed oil is extracted

from the screw presses in the pressing unit. One of the

pressing methods is selected according to the desired oil

content in the cake.

With the modifications and the renovations made in the

new model Screw Presses, which are the latest product

of HUM’s research and development activities,

• Cold Pressing • Full Pressing • Pre-Pressing

The residual oil from the press is sent to the Oil Screening Tank and the cake to the Cake Cooler for cooling.

Continuous Solvent Extraction is a process the

oil remaining in oil flakes or cakes of oil seeds is

extracted with the help of a solvent. HUM, as in all

edible oil technologies, pioneers all companies in

the market in extraction systems. The extraction

systems, which HUM has developed and

installed, are operating trouble free in the world.

Edible oils and fats should be fully refined to

improve flavor, odor, color and stability.

Two processes have been developed for the

refining of edible oils and fats, i.e. physical and

chemical refining.

The aim of HUM Refining is to remove the

objectionable co-constituents in the oil with the

least possible damage to the glycerides and

minimal loss of desirable constituents.
