YOUR LEARNING PATH TO SUCCESS

COURSEPROSPECTUS

2019 GAC CORPORATE ACADEMY

IT IS MY PLEASURE TO PRESENT OUR 2019 GCA COURSE PROSPECTUS.

MESSAGE : GAC GROUP PRESIDENT MESSAGE : GROUP VICE PRESIDENT – HUMAN RESOURCES

For over a decade our Academy has established a culture of learning, development and constant growth among GAC employees. Every year we strive to work jointly with our key stakeholders to deliver tailored and unique learning experiences to all personnel with the goal of continually driving the Group’s Delta 21 strategy.

As we face new challenges and opportunities in the 21st century, we also need to adapt our digital learning needs. This year we have a strong focus on supporting Group IT and their vision of a forward-looking digital business environment by ensuring our personnel have the resources and ability to drive and achieve our business outcomes. This includes the development of more mobile technology, such as our GAClearn App, and the development of our Cyber Security Awareness (CSA) course.

To support our individual operating companies and managers, we also introduced a new corporate intervention last year,

VUCA, a 3-day workshop that is designed to give our leaders the essential skills to steer their company through uncertain times. Managers and their team have the opportunity to analyse the needs of their company and together build specific strategic outcomes for the future. Feedback from participants in Qatar and Thailand have been extremely positive – so we look forward to more regions taking advantage of this unique intervention.

Our Academy continues to work closely with key stakeholders to deliver exceptional and GAC-centric learning experiences to personnel at all levels of our business.

We all have a unique chance to take advantage of learning new skills and creating a career pathway for our future. Make the most of the opportunity!

Bengt EkstrandGroup President

WELCOME TO THE GAC CORPORATE ACADEMY 2019 COURSE PROSPECTUS.

Patrik HalldénGroup Vice President – Human Resources

One of the primary objectives of GAC is to drive our business forward continually, and our Academy helps us to do this by designing learning courses that address our specific business needs. As part of our Delta 21 strategy, we want to ensure that all our people have the competencies to make our business successful, and that leaders and teams will be ready to face any new challenges in times of instability.

This year we have some exciting courses on offer with a focus on self-paced short courses that can easily be slotted into people’s busy schedules. One of these includes our new Communication in the GAC World (CGW) course, which can be completed in less than two hours, making it a short interactive learning experience.

We also decided to minimise the duration of two of our New Employee Orientation (NEO) courses from 4-weeks to 2-weeks. Introduction to the GAC World (IGW) and Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) are now presented

in a more concise version, full of relevant information and will continue to be facilitated by our professional team of Facilitators.

Our NEO courses have been developed specifically to ensure all our personnel, especially new joiners, have the core understanding of our business and firm comprehension of our Delta 21 strategic vision as they embark on their GAC career.

Another positive learning initiative is the introduction of a new driving-orientated course - the DriverMetrics Profiling and eLearning Programme (DMP). If you drive your car to work on a daily basis or are a professional truck or van driver - this scientifically-tested online course is designed to address the behavioural and motivational factors associated with crash involvement. Research has shown excellent results from this course with a drastic reduction in minor or major accidents.

I encourage you to think about what kind of learning could help you perform better and take up the GCA opportunity this year.

YOUR FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHTThe six New Employee Orientation (NEO) courses are designed to give all new employees across the GAC World a common universal foundation of our organisation and understanding of the business – from GAC’s rich history, our strict safety standards, how we communicate and our need to be vigilant with data security.

The Introduction to the GAC World, Health, Safety, Security and Environment, as well as Compliance and Ethics and General Data Protection Regulation are mandatory for new employees, and are to be completed successfully during the probation period.

Communicating the GAC Way and Cyber Security Awareness are highly encouraged for new joiners and all staff to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge to support their role as citizens of the GAC World.

NEW EMPLOYEE ORIENTATION

“The IGW course gave me the background and information I needed to confidently talk about GAC with my customers and present to potential customers. For example, last year I worked on a presentation for a large Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) company. This particular company wanted GAC to give a presentation of why GAC would be a good fit for them. I recalled from my IGW training that GAC’s early start

was tied into a Swedish EPC company, Cementa (today Skanska). I could not have asked for a better opening! When you are in front of a client it is crucial that you can speak confidently about your company, its history, the services represented, and the culture of your company. When you can do that, it shows a pride and commitment that gives the client a sense of security and, therefore, gives you a greater chance of success.”

Anders B. Pedersen National Commercial DirectorGAC North America

.This Introduction to the GAC World course is aimed at increasing your understanding of the GAC Group

Through the course, you will gain insight into the history and future of GAC, the DNA that goes into making GAC what it is today, the code of practice we operate by, and what it means to be a citizen of the GAC Group. IGW is designed to introduce you to everything you

.need to establish yourself as an important member of the GAC community

Understanding legislation and regulations that govern the international business of shipping and logistics is essential for all GAC employees to avoid potential non-compliance issues.

The GAC Group Compliance and Ethics course is a self-paced training course, which will provide employees of the GAC Group with the knowledge and comprehension of the Group’s compliance and ethics policies and the Group’s stance on ensuring that all its business is undertaken ethically and transparently.

As a global organisation, with many offices based within the European Union, GAC is implementing the General Data Protection Regulation Awareness (GDPR) across the entire Group, and ensure compliance and alignment with good practice in the management of personal data.

This course has been designed to give all GAC employees the opportunity to learn more about the changes the new privacy laws have brought about both professionally and personally and how it impacts each individual.

A well-established HSSE policy with supporting procedures is of utmost importance to GAC and our customers. GAC is an international provider of global services and it is crucial that the Group has a common HSSE culture matched to the scale and magnitude of our organisation. We must ensure that all people in the GAC World work in a healthy, safe and secure environment.

This course is designed to provide a strong foundation and working knowledge of HSSE basics, how HSSE is incorporated into our GAC culture, the impact it has on our relationships with customers, and what you personally can do to play your role in the HSSE picture.

The GAC brand is recognised as one of the most important assets to drive our long-term growth. As a global organisation with professionals from many backgrounds and cultures, it is essential that we communicate together ‘the GAC way’.

This course is designed to provide you with the relevant skills in verbal and written communication to be confident in your daily interactions with colleagues and clients, and ensure you are representing the GAC brand with professionalism at all times.

Digital technology is transforming business models, changing consumer preferences and also creating major opportunities for businesses. As we focus on our new Delta 21 strategy - emphasizing our continual need to develop new technologies throughout the GAC World - we also need to ensure our IT platforms are secure.

This course will focus on the tools you use to secure your identity, our assets and technology in the online and mobile world.

COMMUNICATION – THE HUMAN CONNECTION

“I use the courses to expand my knowledge and extend that across to my team. The course material and interaction with other colleagues gives you more information on what are we doing around the globe in other GAC offices. This is a big support to our teams and me, and helps us grow within the company.”

AMBITION ACTION SUCCESS

“Being a Key Account Manager in the Oil & Gas Department in GAC Singapore, I have been able to apply the knowledge gained from completing these courses to my daily work. Because the courses are tailor-made for the GAC World, all the content is highly relevant.

For example, having gone through the Oil and Gas Support Services (ONG) course, it provided me with valuable insights and

in-depth knowledge into the Oil & Gas industry itself; much of which I did not know of prior to attending this course. The course also stirred my interest in the industry, equipped me with better knowledge, and gave me more confidence when I handle my customers.”

At GAC we strive to create the highest level of efficiency to enable us to fulfil our promise to our customers of “Delivering your strategy”. To be able to achieve this, we need to work from the ground up, ensuring all our staff - from the shipyard to the boardroom - are equipped with the knowledge and skills of our industry.

GCA’s Business Operations portfolio builds the knowledge, skills and attitudes to do business the GAC Way. Our Business Operations courses are custom developed with experienced GAC subject matter experts to ensure that the content is highly relevant to our own business. The activities promote practical application of the concepts in the GAC context and the opportunity to learn from the experiences of other GAC participants around the world.

It is a tool that supports all GAC financial practices and principles and was developed to keep up with changing technology trends. As with all GAC business applications, Dolphin is a dynamic tool that is adaptable to different GAC Operating Companies, and is continually evolving. To ensure our customers receive excellent service, the accurate and efficient use of the Dolphin.NET functions is critical. NEVER STOP LEARNING

SPECIALISED

“At personal level, GCA re-enforces my belief that learning is a life-long experience and that we have to constantly ‘Sharpen our Saw’ to remain productive and useful. The GCA courses are well designed, materials are up to date, relevant & current, layout is good, questions & case studies are insightful and I particularly enjoy the interactions with rest of participants through on-line forum discussion.”

Prabhakaran Kaneson Head, Oil & Gas Projects and Ship Spares LogisticsGAC Singapore

Our Specialised portfolio is heavily focused on safety and ensuring our GAC employees are conducting their work with care at all times. Many of our staff are involved in daily driving to and from work, as well as in a professional capacity driving to business meetings or long-distance truck haulage. Complacency in every-day actions can lead to accidents. Our new DriverMetrics Profiling and eLearning Programme (DMP) aims to educate drivers on the importance of being responsible at all times and the consequences of unsafe behaviour to themselves and others while on the road.

The IOSH Managing Safely (IMS) course meanwhile, provides a highly specialised level of certified training for HSSE Representatives and line managers throughout the GAC Group.

IOSH Managing Safely (IMS) course is an Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) certified course offered online by Astutis Limited. This course is for managers, HSSE representatives, supervisors and staff responsible for managing health and safety effectively across the GAC World. It provides participants with the knowledge and skills to manage risk and resources. The course covers the application of management principles and responsibilities, basic risk assessment and control, legal requirements, accident investigation, performance measurement and environmental concerns. Successful participants will gain an internationally recognised certificate of training from IOSH upon completing the written and practical assessments.

The DriverMetrics Profiling and eLearning Programme (DMP) is a unique and scientifically-tested online assessment tool designed to address the behavioural and motivational factors associated with crash involvement. The course provides an individual assessment of GAC drivers and suggests behavioural change interventions through in-depth eLearning modules.

Published research demonstrates employees who complete this course improve their knowledge, attitudes and behaviours in driving, and has shown a drastic reduction in company accidents.
