Similar to the beautiful city of Valletta, which hosts the School of Languages, our new premises are a perfect combination of a historical building with a modern outlook. The recently restored building includes 15 modern, air-conditioned classrooms, all equipped with interactive whiteboards. Facilities include a testing hall, a study room, vending machines and free internet use. Free wifi is also available throughout the school.
Small classes, with a maximum of 9 students perclass, ensure that everyone is able to activelyparticipate in the lessons and benefit fromindividual attention from our qualified teachers.
In between lectures students may wish to sit backand relax in the school’s modern and spacious
leisure area or on the terrace to enjoy thebreathtaking views of Valletta’s Grand Harbour.

International EnglishLanguage Testing System(IELTS) preparationConsisting of 20 academic Englishgroup lessons this course will helpyou improve your English languageskills to prepare for and obtain theinternationally recognised IELTScertification which is often arequirement for universityadmission.
The teacher will use IELTSpreparation material that willprepare you for the test in the bestway possible. The focus will be onimproving your English languageskills (reading, writing, listeningand speaking) while building upyour vocabulary, improving yourpronunciation and achieving abetter understanding of Englishgrammar. All of this in a contextthat will provide you with theopportunity to communicate inEnglish with native and non-nativespeakers.
Although most universitieswould expect you to reach an IELTSscore of 6.0 or 6.5, which isequivalent to B2, you can startpreparing for IELTS at a lower level.
Business English – Preparing forBusinessThis course combines a General English course withthe opportunity to focus on Business English that willhelp you use English more effectively at the workplace.
For the 10 afternoon group lessons, your teacherwill carry out a thorough needs analysis and preparematerials that cover the areas of interest of the group,such as creating and giving effective presentations,negotiation language, conducting and participatingeffectively in meetings, report and email writing,telephone skills and social English.
This course is ideal for students who have a B1 levelof English or higher.
English for Specific PurposesThese courses consist of 20 General English grouplessons and an additional 10 afternoon lessons on aspecific area of your interest.
In addition to the General English course, which willhelp you improve your language skills and boost yourconfidence to communicate in English effectively, theafternoon one-to-one lessons will provide you with theopportunity to focus on a specific area of your interestsuch as Medical English, Legal English, PharmaceuticalEnglish or any other topic that may be strictly relatedto your field of work.

Your qualifications will be assessed andmatched to a suitable internship programme. Thework phase is unpaid. However, you will be given aletter of reference from the company and acertificate of language competency from theschool at the end of the stay.
Areas of the internship programme may include:Marketing and advertising, Hospitality andcatering, Retail, Information Technology, Tourism,Office/Business, Import/export, Legal, Leisure andSport, or Accounting.

ACCOMMODATION
SHarEd SElF-caTErinGaParTmEnTSSchool of Languages offers a number of shared self-catering apartments for rent. These are situated so as to make the school conveniently reachable on foot or by public transport in a short time. In these apartments, the learning experience is extended through the contact with the other students sharing.
All our apartments are fully equipped andfurnished to make your stay as comfortable aspossible.
STudio aParTmEnTSIf you prefer more privacy during your stay, School of Languages also offers a number of studio apartments for single occupancy, also conveniently situated close to the school.
Each studio apartment consists of an openplan with a double bed, fully equipped kitchen,living, dining area and one separate bathroom.

HoST FamiliESSchool of Languages has a list of trusted and hospitable host families, who have been welcoming students into their homes for a number of years. When staying with a host family you will not only benefit from being in an English speaking environment, which extends beyond the classroom, but you will also enjoy an authentic experience of life in a Maltese household.
All our host families are licensed by theMalta Tourism Authority, which regulates thistype of accommodation. Furthermore, our staffcarry out regular inspections to ensure thatstandards are maintained. If you choose to staywith a host family, you have the option to stayin a single room, or to share a room with otherstudents of English, on bed & breakfast, half-board or full-board basis.
