Luxembourg is a global hub for a number of financial activities including real estate investments, intellectual property management and diverse investment platforms. The flexible, yet stable regulatory environment attracts big players in all industries. You’ll be working with well-known multinational firms, helping them plan and implement their Luxembourg structures.

Luxembourg is located at the heart of Europe. An international airport and high-speed rail station connect Luxembourg to all main European cities. A quick flight will bring you easily to London, Berlin, Milan, Zurich, Geneva, Copenhagen, Munich, or Amsterdam while Paris is only two hours away by TGV.

People from all over the world come to work and live in Luxembourg. It’s a great place to gain valuable international experience while never feeling too faraway from home.

I came to ATOZ four years ago after a first experience in a big law firm in Paris. Living in Luxembourg is certainly different than living in Paris, but the quality of life here is definitely a plus.

Here at ATOZ, the work is very interesting, even junior members can get involved in client files. It’s not a disadvantage to be young – you can move up the ranks quickly if you are motivated and willing to accept the challenges that come with our type of work.

What I like best about ATOZ is the fact that we are a very human-sized firm. You feel like a real part of the team and everyone, from peers to Partners, listen to your ideas and consider your contributions. It’s truly rewarding to feel like you are making a difference for our clients and for our firm.

Discover a different way of working

Entrepreneurship is a part of who we are. It’s even how we got started: ATOZ began when a group of experienced tax professionals decided to set up an independent advisory firm. These principles and this culture of entrepreneurship have stuck with us since the very beginning. We value members who have great ideas and support them if they’d like to pursue a specific project.

All of our members can suggest projects and receive support from the firm if the project has promise. Interesting project proposals are analysed thoroughly and even Associates are encouraged to put forth their suggestions. Some examples of projects that have been proposed by members include:

ATOZ offers high quality tax advice to international clients through four service lines: International and Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax, Corporate Implementation Services and Corporate Finance.

We are neither a Big Four consulting firm nor a Magic Circle law firm. And yet, at over 100 members strong we’re not a hyper-specialised boutique firm either. ATOZ is something a little different. For example, we are the only independent firm in Luxembourg dedicated uniquely to tax consulting. We’re not the back office to a larger firm in London, New York or Tokyo. Practically, this means that working at ATOZ is also developing your own business and cultivating client relationships from the ground up. ATOZ members work on the front line to give our clients the best service possible.

Every Associate has the occasion to work with all Seniors, Directors and Partners on various files. It’s a great opportunity for our Associates to gain experience working with a wide variety of clients and industries. At ATOZ, we do not work in separated “silos”. Each of our four departments work closely with one another, creating opportunities for synergy and allowing all members to develop a global overview and understanding of all the activities of our firm. Another important way we stand apart from our competitors is that we have no minimum billable hours. While this doesn’t mean that your day will be any less challenging, it does mean that the firm values individual entrepreneurship and the creation of new opportunities by members at all levels of the organisation.

When you join our firm as an Associate, expect to be challenged. We don’t coddle our new recruits, but we do make sure to provide them with the right environment in which to learn and grow. From day one, you’ll be working on client files and contributing directly to the success of the firm. Because of our smaller size, our Associates often have the chance to collaborate with Directors and Partners on files, attending conference calls, meetings and getting involved in transactions from the very beginning.

It’s no secret that we are looking for the best and brightest: this means people who are not afraid to hit the ground running. At ATOZ, don’t expect to spend the first years of your career doing research or filling in templates like a robot. You’ll be getting hands on with the help of your follower, a more senior member whose job it is to support you in your professional day-to-day. We realise that our Associates are our firm’s future and we make it a point to invest in them.

We offer an intense internal/external technical training programme designed to equip all our Associates with the tools necessary to evolve in their career.

It’s not just about work, ATOZ members also like to have fun! Our Social Events Committee works hard to plan internal and external events year-round. While the Summer Party and Christmas Party are the highlights of the year, we also have themed cocktails, activities such as laser tag and ice skating, sports tournaments, and a yearly visit from Saint Nicolas for members’ children. Simply put, there is something for everyone!

1 You apply for a position

After submitting your CV and cover letter, you’ll quickly receive a personal response from a member of our HR team and not an automatic reply. If your CV is selected, we’ll schedule a short 15 minute telephone call in English to validate your language skills.

2 You come in for an interview

We want to know more about you and tell you more about us. You’ll come to our office in Luxembourg for a half day interview and technical test. You’ll also meet some of your future team members where you’ll have the opportunity to ask lots of questions.

3 You receive our decision

Unlike some larger firms, we won’t wait 6 months to send you our reply. You’ll be informed 2 to 3 weeks after your interview of the final outcome. If we think you’d be a good match, then it’s your turn to decide and let us know.
