September 2014The meeting was held on Wednesday September 3, 2014, at 2:30pm. Residents who were present: James W., Jean G., Lillian C., Millie S., Betty S., Edna M., Theresa H., Gail C., Helen F., Cecelia Mc., Audrey L., Eleanor J., Marjie D., Marlene L., Willis W., Arline B., Margaret L. and Dorothy D. and Genevieve J. Staff who were present: Shelly M. and Cheri G. The meeting was called to order by: Genevieve J. and Jean G.Residents were informed of upcoming events for September. Residents didn’t voice any new ideas for activities, when asked. Any concerns they might of had were directed to proper departments. Residents are encouraged

to speak directly to the DON/ADON about any concerns or issues with nursing throughout the month. Also, any concerns in dietary they may speak directly to the Dietary Manager about them.

Meal of the month : Seasoned pork chops, baked potatoes, peas and carrots and oreo fluff.Resident of the month for October is Willis W.#23-24 Bill of rights was read to the residents.Meeting was adjourned at 3:30pm with Jean G. and Genevieve J. closing.Next meeting is scheduled for October 1, 2014 at 2:30pm.Door prize winner was Audrey L.

If interested in having a family council meeting , please speak to Shelly in the activity department or Sandy in Social services, and we’d be happy to set something up.

When ordering a newspaper for your family member, please call the newspaper of your choice, and inform the business office so we can ensure delivery. In room materials are available from the Activities department such as books, games, puzzle books, cards, talking books, cd’s, movie’s, greeting cards and stationary.You can buy stamps and batteries from the business office, during business hours. Your family Ministers are welcome to come visit family members at anytime.When bringing in clothing for your family, please remember to mark their names on them. If you should need a marker, ask any staff and they can get you one to use.Remember, pets are welcome to visit, but must be on a leach at all times, and they are not allowed in the dining room or other residents rooms without their permission!

Attention Residents and Staff:

We will be having a Costume Party on Halloween! There will be three prizes (3 for resident and 3 for staff) for the best costumes! Family members are encouraged to help their loved ones with a costume. (They will be returned to families after the party). We look forward to everyone participating! If anyone would like to volunteer with helping dress the residents please let the activity staff know-it would be greatly appreciated!

Activities will be raffling off a afghan which can be found in the activity room. Tickets will be 50 cents each or 3 for a dollar. Please see activity staff to buy your tickets. Money will go towards the resident’s fund.

Residents:There will be a prize for the resident who gets the most trivia questions correct. Please return your answers the activity staff by Wednesday the 29th and the winner will

be announced on Friday during the Halloween party! Good Luck!

Activities is accepting donations for bingo prizes, items of interest are stuffed animals, jewelry, nick knacks, lotions or body washes.
