Our ShulYoung Israel of West Hartford is a warm, diverse, and vibrant modern orthodox community that spans the generations from babies to bubbies.

We care for each other and foster a sense of belonging that attracts our young people to return and make this their home.

We create a nurturing atmosphere that inspires growth in Torah, Avodah (Prayer), Gmilut Chasadim (Kindness) and a connection to our homeland in Israel.

Our RabbiIn August of 2009, Young Israel of West Hartford welcomed Rabbi Brahm Weinberg as its new spiritual leader. Rabbi Weinberg studied at Yeshiva University’s rabbinical school and graduate schools and worked at both the Great Neck Synagogue and the Ramaz Upper School in New York City.

Rabbi Weinberg is actively involved in all areas of Jewish life in West Hartford and has inspired growth within our synagogue. Rabbi Weinberg is married to Elana Weinberg who teaches Judaic studies in our local high school and is an amazing addition to our community.

Location, Location, Location...Our beautiful city is located less than two hours from New York and Boston. We offer a warm “small town” feel with all the amenities of a big city. West Hartford is a wonderful place to raise kids, with lots of parks and activities for families. We boast one of the country’s leading children’s museums, a science museum, art museums, theaters, amusement parks, skiing and more. We are home to fine universities and three major hospitals.

Many employment opportunities are available in the area and we will be happy to provide an employment professional to assist in a job search.
