Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday

English To write a balanced argument

Today, you are going to write

your balanced argument focusing

yourself.

Balanced argument checklist

Grammar Focus: Parenthesis

At school, we begun looking at using

parenthesis in our writing.

Parenthesis is a word, phrase, or

clause inserted into a sentence to add

extra information. Commas, dashes

or brackets may be used. When a

parenthesis is removed, the sentence

still makes sense on its own.

Work through this BBC bitesize

parenthesis lesson.

All to complete Activity 1.

writing

TIME TO SHOW OFF

YOUR SKILLS!

Over the next two days, you

are going to work on a

creative piece of writing.

We would like you to write a

poem, a story, a diary entry or

maybe even a letter. You pick!

To inspire your writing, take a

look at the images on the

literacy shed.

https://www.literacyshed.com/

the-images-shed.html

Can you base your writing off

one of these images?

Take today to plan your

writing. Maybe you’d like to

think about the adjectives,

adverbs, verbs and nouns you

will use? Do you need to think

about how to structure your

writing?

In the Showbie resources

folder, you will find a

planning proforma you may

want to use to help you.

To produce a creative

piece of writing.

TIME TO SHOW OFF

YOUR SKILLS!

Use your plan to write

your piece.

If you would like to

show off your skills, you

may upload these to

Showbie for us to read.

Although, this is not an

expectation.

This video explores items for sale at a French market.

Have a think…if you were going to sell items at a market, what could you sell?

At home, create a pretend French market, gather some items you could ‘sell’ and label them in French along with the price in

euros.

Music: Try out this fantastic new music lesson from Myleene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hA2Z-GVNdxo

Can you try this out with an adult at home?

sentences to describe your drawings.

Hot: Create a mind-map with as much information as possible on the Anglo-Saxon warriors and their weapons. Remember to use the new key vocabulary from the

PowerPoint, such as the Ceorls and the Huscarls. Could you add drawings to your mind map? Feel free to be creative with your presentation!

Spicy: Write in the role of an ealdorman who is in charge of rounding up men to fight in the Fyrd.

How will you persuade men to go? Will they be willing to leave and fight? How would they be feeling?

Log on to developing experts and on your dashboard, click on the lesson ‘’learn about asexual reproduction.” Watch the presentation slides 1-16 only.

If you continue the presentation, you are shown how to asexually reproduce your own plant. If you have a plant and soil at home, this might be something fun to do. This is

not an expectation.

Art: For the remainder of this half term we are going to be looking at portraits and a famous artist called Roy Lichtenstein. This week we would like you to have a read

through the PowerPoint saved on Showbie in the resources folder and then explore making small pictures using dots. These fine dots can be made using felt pens or cotton

buds and paint. You will find some examples of pictures created using this technique in the resources folder with the PowerPoint.

Please set aside at least three hours per day for learning but remember to take regular breaks, get outside in the

garden and remain active! It is very strange not seeing you and we miss you a lot, but we know you will be working

hard and making the best of the situation we are in. Take care and stay safe.

We hope you got on well with the tasks you completed last week. Thank you for all the super work you have been sending

into us – we love seeing it!

Remember to try to set aside at least three hours per day for your learning.

This symbol shows you which tasks we would love you to try and send back to us through Showbie once you have

completed it. This week, we would love to see your balanced argument and history task.
