The theory of Astronomical calculationwhich is based on Metonic cycle to
determine the moon sighting is unacceptableas far as the Islamic Sharia is concerned. Thistheory cannot be regarded as a criterionofmoon sighting. It is against the hadith aswell as the principle of scholars. It isunacceptable also to apply condition of“Jamme Ghafeer (many) witnesses” toaccept Shahadat on the evening of 29th daywhich is cloudy with “No Imkane Ruyat”(not possible to sight the crescent) by thecalculation of metonic newmoon theory,(this means that It is not legitimate toconsider the Metonic theory as a criterion ofmoon sighting decision for theNot possiblesighting evening of new moon theorytogether with cloudy weather on that eveningof 29th day if many people give evidence infavour of sighting too.
