Structure of the course:
The GCSE ICT course consists of 2 Units of work:
Unit 1: Living in a Digital World - an exam assessed unit.
Unit 2: Using Digital Tools – comprises of a portfolio of Controlled Assessment work created over 40
hours of lessons during years 9 and 10.
Year 11: GCSE ICT
Exam Board: Edexcel
What we are currently covering?
During year 11 lessons pupil will complete work in
preparation for their Unit 1 exam next June. This will
focus upon the theory content, exam technique and mock
questions.
Controlled Assessment
Unit 2 was split into 4 activities which should now have all
been completed. Any pupils who have any controlled
assessment work still outstanding are required to attend
ICT Catch Up on Thursday’s during session 6 during terms
1 and 2. There will be no further opportunity to improve
this work after Christmas.
Homework Plan
Homework is set every 2 weeks by the class teacher. These
home studies will be on past paper questions requiring
pupils to carry out further research at home in order to
answer the questions accurately and thoroughly. These
home studies are posted electronically on our school
website at: lpa.itslearning.com
Exam/Important Dates (if applicable) – provisional dates only
Final exam: Unit 1 - Living in a Digital World 1 ½ hour written paper - May 2017.
