Solpadeine Is My Boyfriend is about a new Irish generation. They were promised everything; a life of financial stability and job security but they now find themselves queuing either at the airport to emigrate or the social welfare office to sign on. They feel entitled not to experience depression, economic or personal, and the availability of over-the-counter medication allows them to numb both. The show received rave reviews and extensive interest from around Ireland and abroad and was nominated for two abSoLuT Fringe awards in Dublin 2012.

Keith barry is back, bringing his brand new show The Dark Side. Following on from his sold-out 8 Deadly Sins tour, Keith’s new show will be his most controversial to date as he explores everything that encompasses ‘The Dark Side’. Keith will take the audience on a theatrical rollercoaster ride where they will participate in astounding feats based around the occult, ouija boards, remote viewing, past life regression, and unspeakable acts. He will open the door and invite the audience with him on this journey of exploration - are you brave enough to step through the door and journey with him? unlike Keith’s other shows, people can attend without the fear of being pulled on stage, as only the brave souls who volunteer will join Keith onstage. If you scare easily, then quite simply ‘Don’t come alone’.

The Ronan Collins Showband Show which has been a complete sell out right around the country for the past 3 years, returns. once again, there is a terrific line up. RTÉ’s Ronan Collins is host and will also sing his Tribute to Joe Dolan, and much more. The show also features Dickie Rock, Mark Leen, The Conquerors, DJ Curtin, Lorraine McDonald, Tommy & Jimmy Swarbrigg, bringing it to an exciting finale with an all-cast salute to the Showband era.

Des Keogh, one of Ireland’s foremost actors and entertainers, returns with his hugely successful and award-winning show.

It tells the story of John bosco McLane, a bachelor of ‘indeterminate’ age and according to his own assessment, ‘past his best’ and evidently still a virgin. McLane’s amorous adventures range from the hilarious to the pitiful.

John b. Keane ranks among the great Irish writers. His plays include Sive, The Field and Big Maggie. His ‘Letters’ series of books were a spectacular success, with The Love Hungry Farmer being particularly outstanding.

In this presentation mainly based on a small case study of the Spanish official translation of the fifth book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (ooTP), the focus will be on the difficulties of translating humour and linguistic varieties, whether regional or personal and how humour develops in the books and how it has been translated into Spanish, ignoring some elements and adding colourful equivalents.

when the bible refers to ‘Speaking in Tongues’ it describes an event, later named Pentecost, in which the apostles, suddenly filled with the Holy Spirit, were understood in all languages; but it also refers to an ecstatic language, spoken among members of the early Christian church, that nobody but God would understand.

Theatrecorp’s seventh classic production is a tight, visceral ensemble version of Measure For Measure.

This play, rarely seen in the west of Ireland, has sharp parallels with today’s world. Dressed in formal black and white, the actors create the repressive atmosphere of Vienna where sex is allowed only within marriage, after the Duke’s deputy re-establishes a law, and condemns a young nobleman to death who has made his fiancee pregnant.

Theatrecorp has been performing world Classics in Galway and on tour since 2004. Productions of Faustus, Waiting For Godot, Blood Wedding, The Maids, The Human Voice and The Glass Menagerie have received great acclaim.

coSÌ Fan tutteCharming, witty and provocative, Così fan tutte is filled with beguiling arias and iconic ensembles, and explores the vagaries and vacillations of young love.

In Mozart’s tale of temptation and seduction, two young men make the mistake of boasting about their perfect lovers. Don alfonso spots a chance to make some money and claims that all women are fickle, wagering that these ‘constant fiancées’ can be easily seduced. Filled with wry comic wit and irreverence, by the time this vivacious, intriguing opera ends, Mozart and his librettist Da Ponte, have spared no one.

In her oTC debut, Irish director orpha Phelan directs a vocally luminous cast in Mozart’s sublime romantic comedy. Sung in english, the six piece oTC touring ensemble is conducted by andrew Griffiths. Design is by Madeleine boyd with Lighting Design by aedín Cosgrove (PanPan).

The powerful cast includes Irish soprano Mairead buicke (Fiordiligi) & mezzo soprano Martha bredin (Dorabella), with Colette Delahunt singing Despina, Sune Hjerrild as Ferrando, owen Gilhooly as Guglielmo and Simon wilding playing Don alfonso.

Tuesdays with Morrie, written for the stage by Mitch albom and Jeffrey Hatcher, is the autobiographical story of Mitch albom, an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor. Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch happens to catch Morrie’s appearance on a television news program and learns that his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Mitch is reunited with Morrie, and what starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a last class in the meaning of life. It is a heartwarming exploration of friendship and life. as Variety says “You’ll laugh. You’ll Cry”.

Johnny mceVoy an evening of nostalgia

northern Ireland, 1979: nuala Kelly takes no prisoners. a tough nine-year-old living with her mother, brother and grandfather, she thinks the class bully is just a big baby, and that all the nuns are cranky old wrinkled up cronies. She loves Thin Lizzy and The undertones - just like her big brother, oran. He’s fifteen and thinks he’s Casanova. nuala thinks he’s more like Jesus; she’d do anything for him. but what she does one day for her brother, no-one could ever have imagined…

Set in a prison ten years later, Grenades is a compelling drama that has at its heart the bruised innocence of nuala, who must re-live the events of her childhood and finally make sense of them all.

Johnny Mcevoy has always been highly acclaimed for his excellent concert shows and his forthcoming visit will be welcomed by his legion of fans.

This nostalgic evening of ‘Song and Story’ features all of Johnny’s many ‘Hit Songs’.

His songs are haunting, evocative and beautifully presented with many in the folk and ballad style.

The Sand Park is the sometimes hilarious account of how big-hearted offaly farmer James anthony Lowery, a man in his mid-fifties, came to terms with the death of his son fifteen years ago and now, more recently, that of his wife Rose. It’s a play about rural Irish life and the way we cope with the inevitable, about how life and death and humour and love and sadness all live in the same house together. Funny, uplifting and real.

on october 31, 1978, Munster played the mighty all blacks, the undisputed kings of rugby. Munster played as if their lives depended on it, and even the earthworms in the Limerick pitch were cheering for them. The Goliaths didn’t know what had hit them: the score was 12-0 to the Irish side.

a multitude of different stories weave together to tell the tale of the hype and, indeed, nervousness running up to and during the big match. Stories of birth, tragedy and building bonfires prevail, as the play charts the personal stories of various characters and their whereabouts on the momentous day.

In a virtuosic ensemble effort, six actors play 62 roles including the Munster team, the Kiwis, the two coaches, the ref, the crowd, the press, a pregnant woman, several children, a dog and even the ball itself! monDay - all
