The hardware components of the P-SBS solution are:

The P-SBS Touch Screen and Controller:

This device includes a 7” touch screen which will be the user’s main interface and a computer at the

back of the screen with the P-SBS software.

The P-SBS Power Module:

This is a 19” rack format module including the electrical contactors and the cabling to link this

contactors with the PAA20+

The PAA20+ the Automation Adapter:

This is a 19” rack format automation adapter interfacing the Touch Screen and Controller with each

Power module in every single room booth.

The idea behind of the P-SBS is to power up and down your equipment remotely using the contactors

included in every P-SBS Power Module installed in your theatre.

The contactors should be connected between the main supply circuit breakers and the mains supply

input of the equipment, one contactor for every circuit you want to manage. These contactors are

controlled from the P-SBS Touch Screen and Controller using the PAA20+ as interface.

The outputs and inputs of the PAA20+ not used for the contactor management could be used for

other purposes as Fire Alarm System, room lights, curtains, etc.

In addition, the P-SBS Touch Screen and Controller can be configured to monitor or control some

functions of most used Digital Cinema equipment.

An example of the P-SBS system connection is given in this schematic:

In this schematic, it is possible to distinguish between three types of connections:

• Power connections: Main supply of the cinema booth devices as projector, server, sound

rack, lights, air conditioning, etc. These lines are the ones we are going switch using the

contactors, to power up and down the equipment in the booth.

Page 6: Proyecsonpix.proyecson.com/Manuales y PDF/PROYECSON/P-SBS... · 2019. 12. 5. · 5.1.2 Servers / IMB ... from this neutral terminal to the A1 terminal and the existing black cable

• Ethernet connections: Communication layer between the P-SBS Controller and any PAA20+,

in the example given we use the Ethernet Control Network present in almost all Digital

Cinema booths. The P-SBS Controller should be connected to the same subnet than the

PAA20+.

• Control cable: Communication between PAA20+ and Power Module, these cables are

supplied with P-SBS Power Module:

o Control cables: Connected to the output relay contacts of the PAA20+. They transmit

the open/close orders from the PAA20+ to the contactors in the P-SBS Power

Module, to open/close the main supply of each device and power down/up them.

o Monitor cables: Connected to the inputs of the PAA20+. Senses the state and the

presence of main supply voltage at each contactor of the P-SBS Power Module.

Main supply of every device which powering on and off you want to control, should be pass through

a contactor of the P-SBS Power Module.

Depending of the type of mains supply, monophasic or three phases, the connection of the contactor

shall be different.

MONO-PHASIC LINES:

• Connect the Neutral line input (the one coming from the circuit breaker in the panel) in the

terminal number 1 at the top of the contactor, taking care to keep connected the existing

blue cable linking terminal 1 with terminal A1 also at the top of the contactor in front of

terminal 1.

• Connect the Neutral line output (the one going to the de device you want to power on and

off) in the terminal number 2 at the bottom of the contactor

• Connect the Phase line input (the one coming from the circuit breaker in the panel) in the

Some server models, as Doremi ShowVault, DCP2000, DCP2K4 and GDC SX2001, SX2000A and

SX2000AR, need an extra configuration in the “Power Up” section of the BIOS system.

The “Power Up” option of the BIOS must be modified to set it in such a way that the server boots up

every time the server is powered. With this setting, the server will boot up when its P-SBS contactor

main supplies it.

In the next picture, you can see how to modify the “Poser Loss Control” option of the “Boot features”

page for a Doremi Show Vault:

As a reminder please bear in mind all the servers are running at least a DCI compliance. In case of

GDC SX2001, SX2000A and SX2000AR the P-SBS control by serial is not possible in non-DCI versions.

Control of the HVAC machines is meant to be limited to ON/OFF commands. No temperature nor

programing functions are available.

The goal of this simple control is to ensure that the HVAC is turned on and off properly, in the right

order to avoid peaks of energy and to avoid leaving the machines working when not needed.

Most If the HVAC split machines boot up automatically after powering up, keeping the last status

they had when they were powered down. In these cases, the control of HVAC is as simple as

switching the power through one of the contactors available.

In case of HVAC providing a RS-232/422/485 interface, the commands can be sent using the RS-232

port in the PAA20+. To achieve that, please provide Cinemanext Spain with the specific

communication protocol data.

ONCE THE P-SBS IS UP AND RUNNING, NO MANUAL POWER ON OR POWER

OFF OR STANDBY MODE MUST BE DONE OVER THE DEVICES CONTROLLED BY

THE P-SBS. THIS COULD LEAD THE P-SBS SYSTEM TO WORK UNPROPERLY.

The P-SBS software is already installed in the system you purchased. If you fulfilled the P-SBS

Preparation Form the P-SBS computer will be configured with the IP you ordered. Bear in mind it

should be preconfigured also each output ended with PS, they will be executed as part of power on /

shut down room (as a contactor)
