bring their own head/earphones where possible. Thank you.

social care, radiology, IT, HR, laboratory, pharmacy etc. There are limited places available so pupils should let their

tutor teacher know if they are interested by 24 January. Can tutor teachers please let Miss McDonagh and Mr

Simpson know the names of those who have come forward so that next steps can be taken.

Sutton Trust Summer School 28 June to 3 July 2020 (S5 Pupils): The Sutton Trust Summer School at the University of

St Andrews is held each year in order to give pupils in S5 the chance to experience a week in the life of a university

student. It has been proven that this experience, aimed at pupils who fulfil most of the criteria set out in the

information material, is of great benefit when applying to competitive universities. The residential week includes

study within academic areas of interest, social activities and advice on UCAS related topics. The week is free of

charge and pupils are only required to bring spending money for their personal use. Applications are now open, and

I would encourage your pupils to apply early. Applications close on 3 March 2020. Further information can be found

online at: www.st-andrews.ac.uk/study/access/projects/sutton-trust If you have any questions about the Sutton

Trust Summer School, please do not hesitate to contact us by email [email protected] or by calling

01334 462315.

Lunchtime Clubs: Due to the prelims taking place for S5 and S6 pupils there will be no lunchtime clubs running this

week with the exception of table tennis which will still be on Tuesday. We are hoping to get the rest of the clubs up

and running for the week beginning 20 January.

Dance Showcase: West Calder is going to be holding a dance showcase on Wednesday 26 February (change to

original date). This is an opportunity for you to showcase your talents in any type of dance. We will be selling tickets

for this to parents/carers/anyone who wishes to come along to watch. If you would like to perform in this showcase,

either as an individual or group, could you please attend a short meeting in the small gym with Miss McKay on

Monday lunch time.

The Wee Café: The `Wee Cafe' will be open for S5 and S6 pupils plus those attending college from 12.45 - 1.30
