You can move and size the shape the same way as you would move an image.

If you click on the shape and select DRAWING TOOLS you can change color of the shapeor give it special effects.

You can also insert a Callout and insert text in the Callout.

3 Insert a Screen Shot

The trick is to open the window you want to capture first.

1. Click in the document at the location where you want to add the screenshot.2. In Word click Insert then click Screenshot. ... 3. The Available Windows gallery appears, showing you all the windows that you

currently have open.4. You can click on the Window you want and it will get inserted into your document5. or You can select screen clipping and select what you want.

You can move the text box as you would move an image. Wrap it in front of text first.

If you click on the box and select FORMAT under Drawing Tools you can change colors of the text box along with other options and effects.

5 Using WORD ART

Open Microsoft Word.In the Ribbon, click on the Insert tab.In the Text section, click on the WordArt option.Select the type of WordArt you want to add to the document.

Click on the Word Art box and select Format under Drawing Tools

You can highlight your text and change the color , outline or apply shape effects.Once Again you can move it around as you would an Image.

6 Insert a Drop Cap

his is a sample paragraph with a drop cap in it. The idea is to show how a drop cap works. This can be used to create an effect in a paragraph.T

Open the document you want to add Drop Cap to and click on Insert tab.

Under Text section, click on Drop Cap button and it will open a drop down menu with types of drop caps you can add to your document.

Select the type of drop cap you want to add and it will automatically add it to the selected paragraph. It’s not necessary that you have to add it to the first paragraph, you can add it in any paragraph you want.

If you want to tweak the way it looks, go to Insert >> Drop Cap and click on Drop Cap options.

Select your desired settings and click OK when done.

You can change the size of the drop cap by clicking on it until the four arrow icon appears and expand or shrink it to change the size of the drop cap.

7 Adding Page Borders

From Top Menu Click DESIGN Select Page Borders

Under Setting, choose which kind of border you want.

Use the None setting to remove borders.

On the Apply To drop-down menu, tell Word which page or pages in the document get borders.

Select options to construct the border you want and then click OK.

The Page Border tab has additional options for format the border:

Line for borders: Under Style, scroll down the list and choose a line for the borders. You will find interesting choices at the bottom of the menu. Be sure to look in the Preview window to see what your choices in this dialog box add up to.

Color for borders: Open the Color drop-down list and choose a color for the border lines if you want a color border.

Width of borders: If you chose artwork for the borders, use the Width drop-down list to tell Word how wide the lines or artwork should be.

Artwork for borders: Open the Art drop-down list and choose a symbol, illustration, star, piece of cake, or other artwork, if that is what you want for the borders. You will find some amusing choices on this long list, including ice cream cones, bats, and umbrellas.

Borders on different sides of the page: Use the four buttons in the Preview window to tell Word on which sides of the page to draw borders. Click these buttons to remove or add borders, as you wish.

Distance from edge of page: Click the Options button and fill in the Border and Shading Options dialog box if you want to get specific about how close the borders can come to the edge of the page or pages.

8 Working with word 2016 templates

Microsoft Word can be used for practically any type of document that you can think of, it is full of graphics, colors, fancy text, and hyperlinks. Microsoft Word is packed with awesome templates, from Business Forms, Memos, Newsletters, and Resumes and Flyers.

Remember that you don’t have to start from scratch. Microsoft Word makes it easy for you by providing a variety of pre-formatted templates. Just click on a template and edit it.

How to Access Templates in Microsoft OfficeTo access templates in Microsoft Word

Click File, New.

From the New window, you can:

1. Search for a specific type of template by entering search criteria in the search box. For example, type "resume" to search for resume templates.

2. Select a template from the Featured category. ( Example Flyer or Brochure )

Once you see a template, you want to use, single click on the template thumbnail to view a larger thumbnail and more details about the template. To proceed to use the template, click Create.

Once you see a template you want to use, you can also double-click on the template thumbnail to open it in your document window and begin customizing it right away!

After you finish editing the template, click File, Save As and save your document. The original "master" template will always be available in its original form in the File, New templates screen.

Templates save you time and offer a wide range of pre-formatted documents including different types of letters, charts, awards, flyers, financial documents, presentation layouts, and much, much more.

Use Microsoft Word to create your flyers.  The flyer must fit on one page.

For each flyer, be sure you meet the following requirements:

You must include the an overall title - (Come to My Party, Murder Theatre, etc)

You must use at least two different font colors (color of the words).  You can change the size, shape, colors, etc.

You must include at least one WordArt graphic. (INSERT - WORDART) You must include at least one Text Box graphic. (INSERT - TEXT BOX) You must use at least three picture.s (INSERT - PICTURE) You must use at least one shape. (INSERT – SHAPE) Put a border around your flyer. (PAGE LAYOUT – PAGE BORDER) Save the assignment on your student drive.

Your event will be held every Saturday in May. Create a Table to show theDay, Date and Time. ( Ex.. Saturday May 7pm)Have column headings and color your cells. Make up a time.
