A few days later, he arrived with two friends. After talking in slow English for an hour and half, I learned that they had actually skipped school in order to meet me! • On my second visit to an orphanage, the woman in charge told us of its many financial needs. It was humbling, to say the least. • God has been telling me, through His word and prayer, that I need to rely on Him so much more. In the end, He changes people, not I. I need to become (seemingly) weaker in humility, less self-confident and more dependent on Him, so that His wisdom and words may flow through me.

• In one of my first weeks here, I wanted to make friends. I asked a young boy who came to a Sunday morning English class if he would meet me for coffee during the week. A few days later, he arrived with two friends. After talking in slow English for an hour and half, I learned that they had actually skipped school in order to meet me!

• On my second visit to an orphanage, the woman in charge told us of its many financial needs. Moved by compassion,

I gave her 5000 chat, which was enough to make her weep. On my way home, I realized

it was the equivalent of $5 CDN! It was humbling, to say the least.

• God has been telling me, through His word and prayer, that I need to rely on Him so much more.

In the end, He changes people, not I. I need to become (seemingly) weaker in humility, less self-confident and more dependent on Him, so that

His wisdom and words may flow through me.

GIVE with purpose

Possibilities abound for sharing God’s love in local schools, nursing homes and refugee camps in the more unreached villages of Moldova for several weeks every year, as well as other eastern European countries.

Films and literature

The Bus4Life is a mobile bookshop and cinema, providing access to Christian literature and movies in city centres and remote areas alike. The Bus4Life’s bookshelves carry Bibles, Christian books, educational and children’s books at reduced prices. Through this ministry we want to bring the Gospel to the market place. The Bus4Life impacts lives in Central Europe, bringing transformation to many.

Evangelistic meetings

The Bus4Life provides a perfect venue for church meetings, especially in villages with no suitable buildings. The ministry is non-denominational and provides a ‘neutral’ venue for different churches to meet if preferred.

Street cafés and outdoor events

A perfect venue for street cafés and outdoor events, the Bus4Life is often permitted to park on market squares, near public schools or at Christian conferences.

Medical services and counselling

The Bus4Life offers medical care and counseling to residents. A dentist, eye doctor

and nurse have volunteered in different countries.

During a visit to Glodeni, a town of about 10,000 inhabitants in northeast Moldova, a local TV station reporter invited people to visit the Bus4Life. A boy he interviewed said that he was reading one of the books so that

he could know something about God. A day later, the local pastor called

the team to report on the positive turnout at church. Praise God for the synergy between the team, church, local media and authorities.

The Bus4life is OM’s 12-ton, 12 metre-long multimedia ministry on wheels in Central Europe. The team effectively engages youth with sports, games, face-painting and singing while various church groups present dramas, concerts and short messages to gathering crowds.

Please pray for the ministry and for funds to keep this ministry moving.

Even as its reputation and effectiveness grow, so do fuel and repair costs. Would you consider being a part of this ministry? Kindly use the enclosed response coupon, or contact Fraser (1–877–487–7777) or email: [email protected]. You may also donate online at omcanada.org

let us PRAY“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

Matthew 7:7-8 (NIV)

Pray for Canadians like Karl and other workers in southeast Asia who daily intereact with Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, animists and more. Pray that they will live out the Gospel in cultural-appropriate ways and have a transparent witness that creates spiritual hunger around them.

Pray for God to raise up sufficient workers in places like Thailand, Chile and the United Kingdom. Pray that OMers will inspire and encourage local believers to embrace mission at their door, and that all ministry will result in the planting and gowth of churches, espcially where none yet exist.

Pray for our two Canadian Challenges in Toronto and Winnipeg that seek to share the Good News with a growing immigrant population. Pray for preparations now underway, and that each outreach will have many dozens of participants from Canada and abroad. What about yourself?

Pray for the Bus4Life ministry in Eastern Europe as it brings the Gospel—often for the first time—to countless villages. Consider financially supporting this work in 2012.

Pray for OM Canada’s leadership team as they seek and evaluate more and more initiatives in mission. This is a time to advance, not maintain, even though it causes serious stretching!

Pray that urgent positions in OM’s infrastructure will be quickly filled with the right people. How about you, or someone you know? Even shorter-term service can be a great help and promises to be an eye-opener for people joining our teams.

There has never been a time of greater flexibility and potential in missions than today, and technology allows for greater teamwork and synergies. Perhaps we should have a conversation soon?

Prayer is our culture, lifestyle and relationship with our heavenly Father. Global intercession is one of OM’s nine core values.
