Wren Feathers School uniform and back to school crafts
for Hearts for Hearts As always this pattern is © by me (Jennie Bagrowski) and is for your personal use only, you MAY share it by linking to this blog, you may NOT sell it or upload it to any site without my permission. If you sell things made from this pattern I’d appreciate credit for the pattern design. If you downloaded this elsewhere it was stolen from: http://jenwrenne.wordpress.com
Quarter inch seams allowed on all pieces unless otherwise specified. I assume you have basic sewing knowledge and the explanation should suffice, but if you need help please email me!
This white blouse/blue pleated skirt combo is a common uniform in many parts of the world, but of course you can
customize it for your doll!

If I made this skirt longer, it wouldn’t fit on one page. You will probably want to add about an inch plus your desired hem at the bottom edge to fit H4H.

You thought about buying that AG science set when it was available, but weren’t willing to pay the high price when the microscope was really the only thing you wanted in the set, right? I finally broke down and decided I needed it, only
to get to the store and find out…it had been discontinued! So after puzzling over the problem of how to make a microscope for weeks, I finally had a winner with one of my favorite craft materials…shrinky dinks! Fast, easy and
inexpensive.
Go get:
• Two sheets of opaque shrink plastic
• a scrap of clear shrink plastic
• two large-ish beads to serve as knobs
• beading wire
• pen cap
• paint (optional)
• tiny drill and jewelry pliers Other items in the pic: Compass, protractor, etc. made from clear shrinky dinks – just trace the “real thing” and shrink. iPad is a painted scrap of wood with a printout of a screen glued on, eraser is scrap of craft foam, paperclip bent from thin wire.

Trace and shrink following package directions. You can try punching the holes before shrinking, but they may not line up
later. It’s easier to drill them after shrinking. Find a pen cap to use as the eyepiece. Line up sides and drill holes. Drill hole through pen cap. Paint everything if desired.
Assemble shrinky pieces. Mine isn’t glued, but you can if you want. Use jewelry wire and tools to attach beads as knobs on either side of eyepiece.

For more (educational) fun if you’re doing this with kids, find pictures of items on actual slides, (there are some here: http://www.delta-education.com/productdetail.aspx?PartNo=193-7814 ) trace them onto the clear plastic and shrink!

On the next pages I’ve included some doll-sized school books. I did them in Portuguese since they were for Zelia, and I also pretended she’s learning Spanish at school and made her a little journal in Spanish. All Portuguese is courtesy of
Google translate, so take it with a grain of salt, and if you do speak it and see an error, please let me know so I can fix it!
The pix below show you how to cut and fold the school books.

Ayer yo fui al mercado con
mi mamá. Compramos
diferentes frutas, y luego
mamá me compró unos
zapatos nuevos. Son muy
lindos y la parte abajo es de
cuerda, asîque se pueden
reparar facilmente!
Nuestro paîs tiene muchos
animales que no se encuentra
en otras partes del mundo.
Mis favoritos son los
murciélagos que comen
frutas. Algunos también se llaman “zorros voladores” pero no son zorros. Comen
la fruta que la gente no
quiere y plantan las semillas
para crecer otros árboles.
Son maravillosos!

A mî me gustarîa ser una
princesa. Las princesas
tienen muchos vestidos lindos
y viven en castillos. Yo serîa
una princesa muy simpática,
porque compartirîa mis
vestidos y mi comida con los
pobres.
