Introduction
Taking consideration to the globalization, the work and the skills on demand are changing rapidly due to new technology and innovations. This has the effect to reduce the number of low or unskilled workplaces globally and in another way to extend the skills of the work force in very short timeframe. It requires a regularly skills upgrading and cooperation with the industries and employers and to define what is expected from the employees in the workplace.
Competency-based training and assessment is a unique approach to training design that builds and enhances individual competencies in line with previously identified profiles of success. This training and assessment helps fill the gap between workers' actual performance and their ideal performance. Competency-Based Training and assessment basics shows readers how to assess which competencies are important to an organization and individual positions, and how to design training around those competencies.

Methodology

Based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, he has spent the last 10 years working as a master facilitator, designer, developer, and executive coach working in a variety of industries. Mahmud Hasan is a TAFE TAE 4110 Training and Assessment certified trainer by Hunter Institute Australia, and ILO Competency Based Training and Assessment Level IV and V certified trainer.He is one of the Competency Based Training and Assessment Exert in Bangladesh and TVET Expert. He has specialization in Capacity Development and Assessment (UNDP and SKILL development Structure), Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector development, developing industry lead/ industry competency based training program. He has vast knowledge and understanding of National Skills Development Policy (NSDP) and Competency Based Training & Assessment (CBT&A) system.
He is also familiar with Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and Philippine TVET Qualification and Certification System (PTQCS) with the strong knowledge and hand on experience in National Technical Vocational Qualification Framework (NTVQF) and National Skills Quality Assurance System (NSQAS).He was quite successful in implementing some of the best practices in Administration, HR and Training. He has finer experience in training need analysis, designing and development of course content, and delivering trainings. Learning modules are designed & developed from time to time, based on the ever changing business needs. He always trusts in pre & post training assessment and hence provides developmental plan to the participants.
He was a vital part of Development and implementation team of newly developed NTVQF system for Bangladesh TVET education system at International Labour Organization, Dhaka. At present, he is dedicatedly working in UNDP’s Projects Capacity Development Unit.
