Communication - BODY LANGUAGE

Unaware body language – strongly dominatesour behavior.Studies show: nearly 90% of our behavior is unconscious. Examples of unconscious body language: inclination of the head at interest, expanded pupils at the positive occurrence, raised shoulders when feeling tension.

Conscious body language - clothing, hairstyle, make-up, certain gestures and certain facial expressions.

The Communication process

To communicate means to transmitmessages between individuals.

We do this at three levels.

Page 12: Workshop communication by peter romboli.pptx

The Communication process

1.How and with what technology do we transfer the information? What advantages or disadvantages are there with this method?

2.How well does the information / message get across correctly to the recipient, do we understand the right message?

3.What effect do we create with the information / message, does it affect the receiver?

Page 13: Workshop communication by peter romboli.pptx

The Communication process

The basis for successful communication is that a transmitter takes great

consideration and shows great understanding of the recipient's

perception.

Or…

Page 16: Workshop communication by peter romboli.pptx

The Communication processThe transmitter must consider …

• How to design the message so that it interests therecipient.

• Who the recipients are. What do I know abouthim/her?

• What language and examples should I use to getthe message to move forward and be understood?

The study of sign systems meaning and interpretation.

Page 23: Workshop communication by peter romboli.pptx

The Communication process – INTERFERENCE
