2. The Recruitment process (including email to apply)

Initial communication with a multilingual Cpl Consultant, pre-qualification for screening

Formal screening takes place via telephone or Skype

Shortlisting of candidates for interview by your recruiter

Interview preparation and NMC, NMBI registration assistance

Interview takes place- may be an EU trip, via Skype or onsite at the hospital

Feedback following interview is provided and explained by your consultant

3. Cpl Healthcare assistance to you

CPL Healthcare supports you through your entire journey; starting from the first call you receive after

submitting your CV through to your start in the hospital/healthcare organization.

For most nurses this will be the first experience abroad and we work to make sure each nurse feels

comfortable and informed through the whole process making ourselves available for email, phone

and skype queries.

During our initial call we will explain to you each of the steps of the interview process so you can have

a better idea of what is coming next.

We help you…

Before the interview

-Assistance in preparing your CV in English, sending CV samples or templates if needed

-Providing sample interview questions and documentation via email so you can practice at home

-Giving specific information regarding the hospital, relocation, the city and nursing board registration

-Scheduling your interview date and giving all details about it

On the day of your interview

-Cpl Healthcare will be your support on your interview day, to answer any questions you might have.

After the interview?

-If you are successful, we clearly explain all the documentation required by the Trust, as well as helping

you complete nursing board registration

-We will work with you to schedule your start date and provide details of your hospital induction

-We give you information regarding accommodation and help you with finding suitable flights if

needed.

-We will share details of other nurses starting so you can get in touch with them!

-We aim to pick you up from the airport on your arrival date and take you to the hospital

4. Nursing in the UK 4.1 WORKING CONDITIONS

The National Health Service (NHS) is the publicly funded National Healthcare System in the UK and Cpl

Healthcare works in partnership with a long list of NHS Trusts based nationwide!

Salary and working conditions are regulated by the NHS are as follows:

Band 5 nurse: £21,909 to £28,462 (€28,086 - €36,487). The salary scale starting at £21,909

and goes to £28,462 ( depending on experience )

In addition to basic pay, there is also extra pay for staff who work in high cost areas such as

central London

Also, your salary will be increased every 12 months!

Permanent full time position

The standard working week is 37.5 hours. These hours can be worked in a variety of ways,

usually depending on the role, the standard is 3 long shifts; days/nights

You will have 27 annual leave days + 8 general and public holidays

Flexibility in relation to your start date, 4 months after receiving your offer. This is will depend

on both your personal situation and that of the hospital

Vacancies exist within the Hospital in different areas: General Medicine, Surgical, Theatre etc.

You will have plenty of opportunities to develop your career in more than one ward

Comprehensive Induction Program and training during the first number of weeks

Excellent professional development opportunities

If you are an EU graduate, you will only need to meet 2 requirements to work in the UK as a Staff

nurse:

Nurse Qualification

NMC registered (or in the process of same)

4.2 NMC Steps of Registration

First Step: Request an application form: https://online.nmcuk.org/europe/euform/euform

a. Within two weeks the NMC will send the application form to your address

b. Upon receipt of your application form you have 6 months to submit all the required

documents before the pack expires.

c. The NMC will request evidence of your language competence after they have completed

recognition of your qualifications (if you already have evidence you should send this to the

NMC with your initial application to speed up the process)

Second Step: English Language Requirements - EU/EEA

1. A recent overall score of 7.0 in the academic version of the International English Language

Testing System (IELTS) test, with a score of at least 7.0 in each of the four modules of reading,

writing, listening and speaking

2. A pre-registration nursing or midwifery qualification which was taught and examined in

English

3. Registration and practice of at least two years in a country where English is the first and native

language, and where a successful pass in an English language test was required for registration

4. If you cannot send the evidence as detailed above you will be required to complete the IELTS

test. Upon request of this you must sit the IELTS exam within 90 days of their request

We highly recommend you make sure you can meet the language evidence requirements before you

apply to the NMC.

When you have gathered all the required translated documents for the recognition of your

qualifications and sent them to the NMC you will then need to pay the on-line registration fee of £110.

Third Step:

It will take 6-8 weeks for the NMC to check your submitted documents.

Once the NMC is satisfied that you have met the requirements to practice safely and effectively, you

can complete your UK registration as a nurse. At this stage you will also need to pay the final

registration fee of £120.

You will then receive your NMC pin in the post within 10 business days.

5. Nursing in IRELAND (NHS conditions, pay scale, etc.) 5.1 WORKING CONDITIONS

Cpl Healthcare works in partnership with a long list of Public Hospitals, private hospitals and nursing

homes around Ireland.

The salary is as per the HSE Salary Scale (each point refers to one year of experience so a new grad will

start on the first point) for hospital and varies for private hospitals and nursing homes.

If you are an EU graduate, you will only need to meet 2 requirements to work in Ireland as a Staff

nurse:

Nurse Qualification

NMBI registered (or in the process of same)

They offer:

Permanent full time position

Flexibility in relation to the start date, normally between 1 and 4 months after receiving an

offer, will depend on our personal situation and healthcare facility.

4.2 NMBI Steps of Registration

To work as nurse in Ireland you need to register with the NMBI.

EU/EEA nurses fall under group 1 rules and you do not have to provide proof that you can speak

English as part of the Application process.

First step: Request an application form: http://www.nmbi.ie/Registration/Application-Forms

a. After the payment of the assessment fee ( € 350,00 ) the Registration Department will send

the application pack

b. Once you have received the application form you have to submit all the required documents

Second step

c. NMBI will assess and verify your application, this can take up to 70 days

d. You will receive your decision letter which proves that you are registered to the NMBI and

then eligible to work in Ireland as nurse
