OBJETIVE 3: List ways to help your business “stand

out” from its competition.

ACTIVITY FOR THE STUDENTS:

Read the following statements and chose between the different options

that are given (it is possible to tick more than one):

WAYS TO DIFFERENTIATE

o PRODUCT- You can transform your product into something more

trendy/boring/ useful to the customer. Adding new features that

competitors don’t have is an excellent decision.

o SERVICE- You can improve your service making a different menu/

rising prices/ creating a luxurious decoration/ looking for an

ordinary location. Customers and clients usually prefer paying a bit

more for services that have an attractive look or feeling.

o SOLVING PROBLEMS- Creating a good atmosphere not only with the

staff but also with customers is an important key to succeed.

o MESSAGE OF VALUE- Customers should really know what makes

different your business from the competitors.

o A unique habit, a specific guarantee-

o COMPETITORS- It is important to know our competitors deeply so

we can offer better services
