1. Provide a brief overview of the Compact Workforce Development Initiative
2. Introduce you to representatives from:– Health and Community Services Workforce Council– Community Services Skilling Plan
3. Work together to identify:– priority workforce capability and sustainability issues in the
region– actions that can address these challenges 1

* The draft list of ‘10 workforce issues’ was developed using national literature and consultations via the South West intersectoral forum in May 2010 10
Next steps• Your input from today’s session will:
– inform regional workforce planning activities– inform the drafting of a report: Seven regions’
workforce development challenges and priorities – possible regional and state-wide solutions
• This draft report will be tested and finalised in consultation with regions
• The final report will be presented to the CGC in November 2010, to inform decision making
