they reflect the priorities for this region• prioritise the top 3 issues that impact most significantly on services in

the region• for the top 3 issues work as a group to:

– Provide an example(s) which demonstrates the impact of the issues on the region– Describe existing strengths that could be harnessed to respond to these issues– Identify what can be done across the region and within existing resources to respond

to these issues– Propose additional actions that need to occur to further respond to the issues (this

may be at a statewide and system level).

* The draft list of ‘10 workforce issues’ was developed using national literature and consultations via the South West intersectoral forum in May 2010 10

Next steps• Your input from today’s session will:

– inform regional workforce planning activities– inform the drafting of a report: Seven regions’

workforce development challenges and priorities – possible regional and state-wide solutions

• This draft report will be tested and finalised in consultation with regions

• The final report will be presented to the CGC in November 2010, to inform decision making
